Seattle will budge as the deadline draws closer and they lose more games. |
I'm proud of you guys, you blew this thread UP while I was in bed...what's the freaking latest?

If they want a 2 and nobody will give it to them, they are being smart by waiting. Some team loses a safety to injury, they could have 2-3 teams trying to trade for ET and then that price goes up.

First post here... PLEASE SIGN THOMAS!!!!! Any addition like his to our team at this point means big things.

I imagine most teams will want to give him a 3 year deal (age) and what message does that send to interested teams that he might act up after 2 years? |

If they want two 2nd's, can we just send them KPass and Speaks and be done with it?

Don’t think Veach would not deal a 2nd if that was the asking price. It’s basically Peters for ET.
It’s got to be two 2s or something like that. If that’s the case then yea wait it out see if it comes down. |
Hopefully Thomas is a healthy scratch come game time and this gets wrapped up
|
If Seattle really wants two 2nds, the Chiefs are in the best position to meet their demands and leverage against them because of their current ammo.
Veach can let this drag on a little longer and likely get him for less. |

Chris Jones and Mitch Morse are ancient history at this point.
How about trading KPass or Speaks for Thomas? DO IT VEACH!!!! |

Each week that passes is that much more money Seattle has to pay Earl and the Chiefs do not.
Another source of leverage for KC. |

Trading Bell who wants a stupid contract for ET whom they are in the same situation with?
Makes 0 sense plus Seattle ain’t doing shit this year why would they take that trade? Add they just drafted a RB. Not buying that at all. |
So Rapaport has it at 2 2nd rounders and Schefter has it at 1 2nd rounder.

So again I say, DO IT VEACH. |
I don't buy that SEA is demanding two 2nds. There's no precedent for that really. If someone had offered a 2+3 this would be done. I bet it's more like we're offering a 2+5 and they'll argue about that for a few more weeks. Hopefully a 2+4 gets it done, but if we "cave" and it's a 2+3, fine by me.

Seattle is clearly holding out for more from us because our 2ndary is that horrid and our offense is that "juggernaut legit" for a SB run.;) Some believe the Chiefs have the leverage here but I say clearly the Hawks have the leverage if our offense continues to rock while our 2ndary continues to meltdown and Schneider has the luxury of a whole month to watch our 2ndary continue to burn down IMHO. |

29 years old. Finishing a big contract and about to ask for a huge contract. Not a premium position.
I dont care how good he is. I never got how some fans were even willing to trade a 1st round pick for him. I am pretty sure the asking price is a 2nd and Veach is duly trying to get it done for a 3rd. And BTW if not for his attitude, Peters at the moment we traded him was worth quite a bit more than Earl Thomas right now. |

Safety is absolutely a premium position today. Not 2000 anymore.

I'm rooting for the Cardinals today. Both to knock the Cubs out of the division race (assuming Brewers win) and for Arizona to beat Seattle to knock it into Seattle's head they need to trade ET yesterday and go into full tank mode.

Like some on this board, I do agree that Veach/Reid see this as a 2015 Royals run and immediately recognized this once their assumptions about PM2 and his comprehension/execution of the playbook utilizing all weapons, putting up points and wins has been confirmed.:hmmm: |
