I think I get it. When Alex makes a mistake, the other team knows they don't necessarily have to take full advantage, because Alex Smith isn't gonna put up a lot of points.

So they ease off the gas a bit, and our defense responds by KILLING THEM, and we win the game.

It's the reverse psychology Alex Smith gameplan.

Brilliant!

He is an NFL QB so you'd like him to put 1 of those 2 within reach.

Save the expletives for some of the crap Brandon Weeden pulls.

Yeah, I want him to hit more than 50% of the wide open passes that are easy TDs. Those passes I'm referring to weren't that deep, they were just open. But regardless he usually does well at the end of games. We were robbed of a TD when they reviewed that Fasano spot. He looked clearly in to me. He still should have hit McGrath on the following 4th down though.

I would like to see that play more often however. Charles lining up on the outside on a streak.

No, I wasn't. But I am able to be objective and fair, unlike some of you. Alex Smith had some good drives today. He made some mistakes, just as I said, but the interception was not his fault. He had a decent day today.

The standard for "decent" QB play has suddenly become quite low in these parts.

Did you watch the first half? Casey Kasem had all freaking day to throw, and shredded the defense the whole half.

Keenum actually got the ball off under great pressure a lot. Moved around really well. It was very a annoying thing to see a guy do in his first start.

I always knew Alex knew how to win, but that's taking it to a whole new level.

how does Alex Smith compare to Steve Bono, you ask?

Alex Smith, seven games extrapolated to 16 games:
3589 yards, 58% completion, 6.3 avg., 16 TDs, 9 INTs, 41 sacks

Steve Bono, 1995
3121 yards, 56.3% completion, 6.0 avg., 21 TDs, 10 INTs, 21 sacks

You must have been a huge fan of Cassel's 2010 performance, huh?

Bono is much more mobile, it seems.

Or Sherman. Or Fasano.

All three sure TD's.
