4 INTs in a practice is hardly something to be concerned about.

In fact, when Geno takes over the starting role this year, I expect him to have a few bad games. Par for the course for a rookie QB.

Dane's overreactions then and now are priceless.

OH THE ****ING IRONY

0 irony in this post. To what are you referring?

Early warning signs should not be ignored in the case of Alex Smith. He's a 7-year NFL veteran. I expect him to make throws like the one I pointed out.

Geno Smith is a rookie. He gets a lot more leeway. A lot more.

Oh shut the **** up. As if every single poster here can't see right through your bullshit.

You're no doubt referring to my propensity to hold Alex Smith's flesh to the fire over every little mistake.

I understand. This annoys you, because I'm more lenient with the object of affection, Geno Smith.

While on the surface this may appear to be a double standard, it's not. Geno Smith is a rookie. More leeway is given to him as he develops into a future NFL star.

Alex Smith is a veteran, whom we gave up two valuable draft picks for. The balance of the careers of our most loved stars are in his tiny hands. He is held to a much higher standard, and rightfully so.

So Alex Smith will be held to the absolute most stringent standards of all time, where you will verbally rape him for not hiding the ball well enough on ****ing play actions, etc, but Geno Smith could throw 7 TDs and 30 INTs and and it'll just be a rookie season gone awry on a team with not enough talent surrounding him.

I'm glad you're stating this now, since we all know Alex is probably going to have at least an average season. Meanwhile Geno, if he plays, is to going to be an absolute train derailment.

Geno will be evaluated fairly. 7/30 would be cause for concern. I would like to see him do something akin to Sam Bradford's rookie season, in an ideal world.

Alex Smith needs to on ****ing point. No excuse for anything else.

Well, that's a fair point. I guess you have me there. Smith is a veteran and Geno is a rookie. You win.

Wait a second...

BASED OFF ONE PLAY IN TRAINING CAMP WHERE TYSON JACKSON BEAT HIM.

Insta-reactions to training camp tweets should not be taken seriously, son.

I thought Eric Fisher played well in his first preseason game.

Fair enough. I understand your point about Geno being a rookie. Bad things will happen this year for him whether he's ultimately successful in the future or not. But, I don't want to see any bullshit about "Oh Alex didn't do this well enough or blah blah blah" when Alex Smith has an obvious good game. And that definitely includes when he has a good game, we move the ball, score a lot of points, but still lose 35-30 or some shit. I don't want to hear the old "Well he lost the game" shit. Be reasonable is all I'm saying.

Ah... so it is up to the reader to decide when you should be taken seriously?

Good. Because my read on it is about 0.0001% of the time.

If we lose the game because Alex fails to make a play when a play should have been made, he will be blamed.

In 2010, when we lost to the Texans (35-31 IIRC) because Cassel shat his pants in the clutch, he rightfully deserved blame.

lcarus 08-14-2013 05:18 PM

I guess I shouldn't take your insta-reaction (There's nothing to be concerned about) to Geno's 4 INTs in camp seriously. Perhaps you were just kidding and you're really pooping your pants over there, wondering "Gee I wonder if this Geno guy is gonna flame out ****in early?"
