Alexander, a 6-foot-8 power forward at Curie High School in Chicago, and Oubre, a 6-foot-7 small forward from Findlay Prep in Las Vegas, will take part in the annual high school showcase April 2 in Chicago. Kansas is still recruiting Myles Turner, a 6-foot-11 center from Euless, Texas, who was also selected to the McDonald’s roster. Kentucky and Duke led the way with four McDonald’s All-Americans each, while North Carolina had three. KU coach Bill Self has now signed five McDonald’s All-Americans over the last three years — and 13 total since his arrival in Lawrence. (He also coached David Padgett and J.R. Giddens, two McDonald’s All-Americans who were recruited by Roy Williams but arrived at KU after Williams left for North Carolina.) The Big 12 is looking great this year, and KU is 7-0 including 6 wins against potential tournament teams. Looking to be great year for the league and KU is clearly on top.
