We gave up our 1st for an immediate impact player, who is elite at his position.

We gave up one of our two 2020 2nd round picks we acquired from SF. We still have the higher 2nd rounder.

We also moved up in the 3rd round.

So basically, we gave (1) 2nd round pick and we moved up in the 3rd round.

The draft shows are scrambling to figure out which other team they're gonna take a commercial break on now that the Chiefs don't have a first round pick.

The body of work is what we wanted.

We wanted Sutton fired.
We wanted Berry gone.
We wanted Ford gone.
We wanted Houston gone.
We wanted a good coaching staff on defense.
We wanted responsible proactive contract deals.
We wanted real tangible upgrades.

Idk what you want? Veach has done all of that, be it with Andy. This team got top level talents at DE and safety and STILL has 3 picks in the top 85 to make moves.

I’m starting to adapt htismaqe’s philosophy after last season. I get that we need to be long term, which this weekend will be all about, but I am sick and tired of failure.

50 years dude. FIFTY YEARS. I want us to go all in while we can. Doesn’t mean we aren’t preparing for the future too.

Buckle up and enjoy 2019. This will be the best season of your life.

The thing is, yeah, we're paying Clark and Mathieu a lot of money.

They're still YOUNG. This isn't a one year run. We're putting pieces on the board that give us a SEVERAL YEAR window. We didn't sign a bunch of 30 year old guys. We got RID of those guys.

We add a CB and maybe a LB and this is a GREAT defense.

That is the most egregious overpay I've seen in years.

The Chiefs essentially traded Ford, a first and a second for Frank Clark and a second.

And they still have to pay Clark.

Holy shit, Reid's front office arrogance is destroying another team.

shup up

There's naysayers to this deal? It's a good one. Look deeper.

Chiefs give up:

29th overall
92nd overall
2020 2nd Round pick (Whichever pick is later in the 2nd round between the Chiefs/49ers pick from the Dee Ford trade)

Chiefs receive:
Frank Clark
84th overall

I initially balked at the compensation a bit, too, but who the **** really cares? This is the sort of move that a championship team makes. This is going all in for Cueto and Zobrist. The Mahomes rookie contract window is wide open and they're going to do everything it takes to fly through it.

At a minimum, Frank Clark knows which side of the neutral zone to line up on. Last year, that would have literally been enough to GO TO THE SUPER BOWL.

ALL IN, MOTHER****ERS!!!!!

Never forget the day. This is like when Frank the Tank defeated James Carville in a debate about the government's role in supporting biotechnological innovation.

We should've traded for Vernon Gholston...
