Duffy is done. I saw him lose it in one of the games I went to too.

He does not have it as a starter mentally. I just don't see it working out.

Re: Lesky, I think an even better comp than Eibner last year was John Lamb. Lamb was putting up good numbers in Omaha but the Royals wouldn't call him up when Vargas went down in June (he was briefly on the bench for a doubleheader as emergency depth, IIRC).

That told you volumes about what they thought of him, and that they didn't want to expose his flaws to the ML, therefore depressing his trade value. So they were able to package him to Cincy for Cueto.

I'm really pulling for Duffy to get it together in any capacity this year. Love him as a person and a player.

The conversation was that at the same age Duffy is now, Cliff Lee was a half run worse in career ERA and on his way back to the minors. Then he came back and was one of the best lefties in baseball.

Cliff Lee had 443.2 IP, 354 Ks and a 4.38 ERA thru 26, Duffy has 443.1 IP, 352 Ks and a 3.80 ERA at the same point and he just turned 27 in December.

It was a discussion on why they and the Royals won't give up on Duffy as a starter yet.

Ex-Royal Willie Bloomquist retired today after 14 years (!) in the majors.

He will forever be remembered for Ned hitting him third in a game against the Tigers in 2010 -- and then whacking a game-winning HR in the 12th inning. Perhaps our first inkling of the charmed life Ned would later lead in 2014-15.

His bat is not big league ready by any stretch of the imagination.

His glove and fielding though....legit.

So we're still stuck with the others on that front.

With the awesome exception of Zobrist for a couple of months, the Royals haven't gotten shit from 2nd base for basically 2 years. I would love any production from that spot but we should be ok anyway.

In the last few months I've watched every 2015 postseason win on youtube. Right now i'm at the 11th inning of WS game 5. As fun as this has been, every time Zobrist gets a hit or makes a play, I get a sad. :(

I think Snider makes it, platoons with Orlando until, at least, Dyson's return. I think he would have made roster before Dyson was hurt. Merrifield has a good shot at last bench spot because of his ability to play OF and IF.

CP is the best, but it would be great to have a place with these posters plus others who are searching for a Royals board.

A really good Royals message board is needed. There is enough to talk about the Royals that don't need to be in a mega thread on here. There will still be Royals talk on here, like every other subject in the world. We just need a message board for the Royals that is worth a damn. Not piggy backing off a Chiefs site.

The most active thread over there is people complaining about being banned over here. If you think it's got any chance of going uphill from that, you're a very optimistic person. There are a lot of people who have a hard time letting things go. I agree that a good Royals message board would be a good thing though.

Rome wasn't built in a day. Besides no games are taking place and spring training. That thread had actually died down behind all the Royals talk until J Diddy was a ****ing idiot and bumped it.
