No. Root canals don't cause cancer.

They can fail, fracture, etc. But no, nothing I've ever read links the two.

If I remember the actual "article" it was something like, a certain percent of cancer pts had root canals, so root canals cause cancer.

50 percent of people who are in a car accident have had a root canal, therefor root canals cause car accidnets

O.city 08-24-2016 02:21 PM

Anyway, back to Training camp.

Berry back yet?

That's just silly. People who have root canals are probably not the most health conscious people, so it wouldn't surprise me if there's some statistic like that

My eyes were watering this morning from the Vicks vapor rub I had to lop under my nose under my mask this morning to treat my last pt.

It's most certainly a thing. Just not a medical diagnosis. Google tonsil stones or tonsil / throat pits, and 9/10 it's impacted food or really poor sinus drainage. Essentially, your throat is trapping debris and giving you a second butthole. Also, as you age and the gums recede, trapped food particles increase in the mouth and their decomposition can be a major culprit.

mcaj22 08-24-2016 07:22 PM

I was cheering for both of them until training camp started and Mike Williams did nothing. Really thought Stevie Brown would continue the trend of the Chiefs yearly rehab a veteran safety into a viable sub package player.

Guess it's Daniel Sorensen or Eric Murray as the new 3rd safety. Gross.

O.city 08-24-2016 07:23 PM

So with brown out, they must feel confident with Murray as the 4th safety

Kman34 08-24-2016 07:33 PM

Did any of you guys watch Hard Knocks last night??? I didn't watch all 4 quarters of the Chief- Rams game but I guess at one point Jah Reid chop blocked one of the Rams D lineman... Really looked like a dick move, could have blown out that kids knee in just a stupid preseason game..

Titty Meat 08-24-2016 07:34 PM

So what happened to Mike Williams? Dude used to be a beast. Also anyone else think Albert Wilson could be a surprise cut?

Nothing wrong with Sorensen he a good decent player. He probably better than Mike Brown & Kendrick Lewis.

Well if the games mean anything Streeter should be the #2. Hill or DAT should bexpect the slot. Robinson will make the team too.

O.city 08-24-2016 07:52 PM

Maclin
Conley
Hill
Streater
Robinson
Wilson

LoneWolf 08-24-2016 07:53 PM

Does releasing Brown now mean we can expect a Berry sighting tomorrow?

Similar to the issue of having our own homegrown quarterback, it's something I don't expect to ever happen.

Side note I couldn't open my mouth more than a few millimeters in November. Started on a 3 day trip that we go on with our middle school students. Fun time to start. The dentist, oral surgeon, and hospital couldn't figure out what was wrong. Oral surgeon tried numbing me to Mars to get my mouth open wide enough to see but I still felt horrible pain and he never got a view. Eventually got an MRI and it was an infection tightening my jaw muscles and had to have surgery. Good times.

Streater will win the job, eventually.

Reid is stubborn.

That is horrifying. Tooth infection, gum infection?

How did it get so bad that it worked its way into your jaw muscles? Did the infection spread to your bloodstream?

Haven't payed attention to him. Honestly don't care about him. Stopped after his effort last season on many plays for Alex. Question is who will play the slot? DAT who can't even stay on the field. Haven't watched Hill during the games because the past two games I've stopped watching at half time due to other things. I'll focus on this game more because I won't be shit faced this time lol so I'll be able to focus on it more. I did hear Wilson hired Rosenhaus. He'll want paid lol. I wouldn't touch him for big money.

Edit: said Boras, but meant Drew Rosenhaus.

Our best 3 WR set has to be Maclin and Conley (who just dismantled Trumaine Johnson of the Rams...their franchise player) on the outside and Hill in the slot.

I have this feeling that Hill is gonna torch Brandon Flowers in the opener.

I believe the infection happened under a broken tooth in the back of my mouth. It developed right around my jaw muscles. TBH it was my first time ever in a hospital and as silly as it sounds I was so happy it was over I can't remember the exact details. I brought it on myself for not getting the broken tooth taken care of. Originally last year my back tooth was coming in but came in sideways and eventually broke off from the pressure. Yes, I am a moron, by the way. I had used up my dental insurance for the year and was waiting til January. Luckily my medical is a lot better than my dental.

The concern was that the infection was potentially close to my neck. The infection ended up costing me the wisdom tooth and the two in front of it. It was quite an ordeal. There was no actual pain during the period where my mouth wouldn't open, only when the oral surgeon tried wedging my mouth open. It was funny looking back during the field trip. We were at a camp for 3 days with the 7th grade and all the teachers individually eat at a table with kids they don't have in class to get to know them. There I am eating with kids that I just met for the first time on this trip, and I'm trying to causally fit food into this opening that I could just barely get a pancake through.

It was actually very surreal when I opened my mouth wide for the first time after the surgery and about a week later for the muscles to relax. It was strange to appreciate and enjoy something so basic.

NJChiefsFan 08-24-2016 09:27 PM

I will go back and try to find the hospital records at some point and give you the medical lingo.

BossChief 08-24-2016 09:27 PM

So Reid basically saying Berry isn't gonna get paid in KC. Gave the line "you can't give everybody top money in the league and stay with the cap".

This is Berrys last year in KC unless he accepts less than he can get in the open market.

Well good thing you're alright.

A bit off topic but kind of not: we really take our health for granted. Every time I'm sick I'll lay in bed reminiscing about the times when I could breathe clearly through both nostrils. Like, damn I never knew how good I had it when I could breathe!

The dentist and oral surgeon seemed seriously baffled by it. There was no pain and they seemed to be ruling out TMJ ect. The scary part was just that two different people, and then the resident at the hospital, didn't know what was going on. I was waiting for Gregory House to come limping in and coldly tell me that I suck and that I am going to die.

Haha isn't that the truth. When you get that sore throat, you almost can't imagine how it was to be without one, and you are jealous of your former self.

O.city 08-24-2016 09:44 PM

Honestly, I rarely use mouthwash. Brushing and flossing is really all you need. The alcohol in the mouth rinse is a drying agent so that's what burns and makes your.mouth feel fresh. It really doesn't do much good.

Some mouth rinses are usefel, biotene, act, etc but I rarely use any

Really? That's a bit worrisome, but at least it worked out & you got it taken care of and healthy.

An absence of significant pain doing a differential diagnosis shouldn't have ruled out an infection. Tetanus typically presents sore muscles, for example, but if the muscles are siezed up, it's not contracting, though may be sore to the touch, but everyone is different.

I have this feeling that Hill is gonna torch Brandon Flowers in the opener.

That would be great if Hill can be what you think he will be right away. But I think you're going to be disappointed. He was a training camp warrior for sure. But so was Bobby Sippio and Fred Williams and neither of them even made the final 53. So I'm going to temper my enthusiasm until I see results on the field. Hopefully that happens soon.

I just remember that Flowers struggles with guys with deep speed and I've read he's going to be playing inside in nickel and I expect Hill to be in the slot a lot. I bet the 2 are matched up 5-7 times and I can see Hill burning him deep a couple times.

Especially when SD has very uncertain guys playing safety because Weddle walked.

Weddle was the guy that got everything lined up for them. Losing him in their secondary is gonna hurt.

Alex Smith is going to have a big day against that defense.

Realistically the Chiefs should be 3-0 heading into Pitt in week 4 with the team we have.

SD is a struggling team with adversity already, the Texans have a brand new QB and receivers with no Watt and their starting C (Nick Martin) is now on IR and the Jets are good but not as good as they appear on paper.

My big fear is we can't get pressure on Rivers and lose a shootout week 1.

Hill might take Wilsons job before the season is over.

Maclin, Conley, Hill, with Kelcey and JC on the field.

That could be tough to deal with.

Hill isn't likely to contribute much this season
