This is the benefit of coming into the draft with 10 picks. Ability to trade around.
|
Traded up again! **** yeah
|
Get Roy.
|
The pick is...
Chamarri Conner Virginia Tech |
Conner CB
|
lol Veach can't help himself with DBs
|
Conner is a CB/S hybrid who had athletic testing off the charts and he's really good in zone.
He's very versatile. |
Thornhill's replacement?
|
Got me. Don’t know much about this kid

Thornhill replacement?
|
Played like 800 special teams snaps in college and his RAS score is well over 9...right in the Chiefs mold.

51% completion %, not bad
|
Dave Toub special.
|
Veach likes this guy a lot more than analysts, but I'll trust him on mid-late round dbs.
|
Meh. Not sure why we needed to trade up for this guy.
|
I think if there's one thing we know about Veach, he'll trade up and he'll take a DB in the mid rounds.
Mocking a trade down is an exercise in futility. Putting together a mock? Always have him trade up for a DB. Not that there's anything wrong with that he clearly knows how to find quality in the secondary. |
This didn't seem to need a trade up.
And with Brooks and Kuntz still on the board, I really don't understand the pick. |

that was really really anticlimactic lmao
|
This guy fits all the stuff like the Chiefs like..
Special teams guy High RAS He's played deep and close to the line 2 years ago he had 5 sacks and 10 tackles for loss Major versatility He also did 20 bench reps which is crazy for a DB |
If you're not careful and channel surf during these late rounds, you miss all the horn swaggling. I got lucky and just clicked back after the Commanders pick to see we traded up. Would have missed it.

I don’t get it, but pretty sure we’ve said that about a few mid - late DBs that Veach has taken.
Really want to see us add a few more bodies to the DL. Nnadi isn’t it. |

Word here at the draft is Cleveland wanted Connor pretty bad.
|
In Veach we trust and especially with mid round DBs.
|
I think Noah Gray and Fortson are nice depth pieces, but are we seeing that Veach/Reid like them a lot more than we might have guessed?

Not gonna find many athletic DTs or TEs past Brooks and Kuntz. Just seems out of character for a GM that typically games the hell out of talent tiers. |

Chamarri (pronounced chuh-MAR-ee) Conner went to Trinity Christian Academy in Jacksonville, Florida, winning state titles in his first three seasons. As a true freshman at Virginia Tech, he played in all 13 games off the bench (13 tackles) before taking over the starting nickel spot in 2019, leading the Hokies with 5.5 sacks and adding 68 tackles, 10 for loss, one interception and eight pass breakups. Conner was an honorable mention All-ACC pick as a junior in 2020, pacing his squad with 81 stops (3.5 for loss), intercepting two passes and breaking up four others in 11 starts. He started all 13 games in 2021, again garnering honorable mention all-conference honors (85 tackles, 5.5 for loss with two sacks, one interception, five pass breakups, two forced fumbles). Conner started all 11 games in his fifth season (67 tackles, two for loss, two pass breakups). -- by Chad Reuter

Lots of guys dropping way lower than expected, obviously gotten be reasons there.

They must think their board has been compromised... Or something... With all these trade ups. There's just no need to do that when there's better players still on board that teams are more interested in. I'm happy they got who they wanted, but they need to stop wasting picks.

"wasting picks" lol that is what all those extra picks are for. Moving up for someone you believe in.
It's literally how Veach has drafted so well, it's his thing. I love it, I'm definitely not Team Soren Petro who just wants to throw numbers at the draft because he actually doesn't know who is going to be good. Veach has guys he wants and then goes and gets them. And then whoa Nelly stop me if you've heard this, they help win playoff games immediately and keep the roster budget manageable. |
What picks do we have left?

Lions trading Deandre Swift to the Eagles
|
I just feel BV has been unnecessarily aggressive the last three rounds and could of picked the same player up at the original draft spot. I could be wrong, of course, but this last pick felt like a reach to me.

Well it'll be good when Swift is on the field...dude gets hurt a ton.
|
For not having a first and second round pick, Cleveland has done well.
|
swift to phili
they pissed off or what |
Rams go Stetson Bennett, I bet the Eagles are sad now.
|
Rams take Stetson Bennett
|
A 2024 4th for Swift? Yeah…I’m not paying that.
|
Swift would have been a fantastic pick up. Damnit!
Getting a little concerned about DL? So many picks before we pick again, wonder what the plan is? |
Eagles aren't messing around!
|
Eagles trying to win a championship running the football and they just might do it. Swift will be scary in that offense, just has to stay healthy.
|
getting close to 166
|
Swift is from Philly and is a Georgia Bulldog
not sure how we didn't all see this coming |
Are the Eagles run by someone who is like 7 years old and just wants all the players from the dominant college team?
