yeah its possible. Some qb from this draft will inevitably alex smith his way to a playoff win.

There is something they definitely don't like about Albert whether it's his back, attitude about possibly playing guard and it's probably both.:thumb:

The Giants won a SB at 9-7.

You know, thats a great point. Chris Mortensen has said many times that he values Left, and right tackles as equal importance........maybe that is what rubbed them the wrong way.....

And let's face it as much as we all pride ourselves in thinking we really know football and some of us have played as high as the college level there are sooooo many lessons of experience throughout the years as a football coach thru all levels and especially the NFL level that we(CPers) will never have or know what to exactly look for in players and their positions and know when it is "time to cut bait" with a player. It could be as simple as not liking Albert's overall tape from the past 5yrs and they don't like what they see that we as fans can't see and for the $$ he is asking for, with the back issues and attitude it doesn't help his cause.:thumb:

They also drafted and developed their own franchise QBs who carried the teams on their backs when necessary. The only thing Alex will have on his back is grass.

Albert hasn't exactly been dominant. He doesn't deserve elite money. We know this. With his injury coupled with his attitude he may have talked his way out of town. I like the concept that no one is above the team. With other top LT getting 5 mil per year that is the market for above average LT. Use the extra money to improve other positions.

Granted we don't know if one of the other tackles from the draft will be elite either but they also won't be getting elite money. He would be paid more in line with what we were paying Winston.
