Kirk had 9 catches for 105 yards and 2 TDs last time.
I have zero doubt that McDuffie will hold him to significantly less than that. |
Our D-Line and LBer's were getting great pressure on Sunshine in that first matchup (5 sacks, 7 TFL's and lots of pressures) and that was when we were struggling to get consistent pressure. We certainly didn't struggle THAT game. Go back and watch it. We were in Trev's grill constantly, forcing him to get rid of the ball quicker than he wanted to.
Now fast forward to the end of the season where we HAVE done a much better job of getting a consistent pass rush from our guys, and I really think the Jags and Sunshine are gonna have a tough time moving the ball on offense consistently. Yeah, I'm sure Doug will catch us a couple times on some trickeration or something, but I can't see them putting up anything more than 24 points. And on the other side of the ball, the Chiefs offense will move the ball effortlessly against the Jags D. Just like the first game. Except our offense is more multi dimensional now. More options for Pat. NO WAY, zero chance they hold us under 30 points. This game will be decided by time we get to the 4th. Just some garbage time stats for Sunshine and the Boys at that point. No worries whatsoever. |
I’m confident.

Lawrence is a streaky QB. When he is on and his receivers are not f'ing up, Jags become a tough team to slow down on offense. Chances are both of those things don't happen so the more talented Chiefs should win.
Someone put up a decent video on Lawrence's 4 interceptions in his first playoff game and 2 of them just don't happen if the receivers run the right routes and another was on an offensive lineman's block technique setting Lawrence up for failure. One of the Jags receivers is just mistake prone in his route running but sooner or later one would think he would learn or his coaches would change his route tree to lower the chances of his f ups costing the Jags. In one case, the Jags receiver clearly did a stupid elongated in cut on the ball so easy for Charger defender to undercut him and get a pick on a nicely thrown ball. On another the Jags receiver ran too far and right near a Chargers defender when he clearly should have stopped and not even put Lawrence into position to make a stupid decision. Mostly on receiver but Lawrence should still have known better. A third interception was on the offensive lineman for a missed block/wrong technique. The 4th INT was on Lawrence. One thing the Chiefs excel at and some of it is Reid and some of it is Mahomes is the receivers and line are much more likely to be doing the right things than most teams. But the further the season goes along and more playoff games a team experiences, you would think the less unforced mistakes happen. For the most part, the Chargers didn't stop the Jags at all. The Jags stopped the Jags. Chargers defense may even be worse than the Chiefs. Chiefs should win since they have great talent on offense that do not make many mistakes, but Jags may score more points than most Chiefs expect if Jags don't shoot themselves in the foot again. |
"The Jaguars definitely have the edge rushing talent to disrupt Mahomes.”
Lol wut? |
