Shit, I'm not upset at all. They played better than I thought they would, especially when they fell behind there. There's a lot of good things to take out of this one, which is quite a bit different than the Nova loss when they didn't compete hard.

If some are freaking out now, though, I worry what it's going to be like a week from now when KU will potentially be on a 2 or 3 game losing streak (Florida is a great team and New Mexico at Sprint will be very tough as well...I'd be fine with just grabbing one of those). They're playing the toughest non-con schedule in the country and it should be no surprise that it's going to result in a few losses.

I hope they try to provoke him more there too (heard some "USA, USA" chants in Boulder today). If that's the Wiggins that responds, I want more of it. We need him to come out of his shell like that every game to reach this team's full potential.

The refs suck, yeah, but what really sucks is we gave up SO MANY offensive rebounds and we refused to stop the ball in transition. I know they're calling everything but come on. At this level you have to stop the ball in transition.

Also, I noticed we did a shit job of putting perimeter pressure on post entry passes. That's not helping the big man fouls. We're going to have to work a front or put some perimeter pressure on.

I liked what I saw from Embiid. I didn't like the attack of the zone. 3's are OK, but it has to go through the middle at some point.

The defense today was awful. Wiggins showed some assertiveness though, so hopefully that continues. He is a freak and shows flashes where he is a man amongst boys.

We can complain all we want but it's being called ticky tacky in every game that I've seen, personally. It's gonna take awhile for teams to adjust. Leads to more scoring but a free throw shooting contest more than anything because teams haven't adjusted well. I can only speak from what I've seen.

I hope he continues that especially with the more strict officiating this year.

The Arizona/UNLV game that came on after KU/Colorado was called completely differently. So much was let go in it. There is no real consistency from game to game as far as I've seen.

We lost because we couldn't rebound for shit. We got out hustled and Colorado hit some clutch, and lucky shots especially threes.

We missed free crucial free throws down the line and losing Embiid was tough. We also shot 17 less free throws.

This. Battier in college had no offense other than offensive rebounds. His Defense though was spectacular. Really special. This is very much not Perry Ellis.

Battier had the perimeter shot in college at least (averaged over 40% from 3 over his 4 years: http://statsheet.com/mcb/players/pla.../shane-battier). But his defense was just awesome.
