That was really good. Man, you gotta really appreciate the greatness that is one Patrick Mahomes.

VERY underrated throw that got us 3 pts

They got down by a couple scores in the first half, and completely shit kittens in their shorts in the 2nd half trying to throw the ball deep, and never came back to their running attack, iirc.

How the eff do you make the same exact mistake twice in the same situation?

Same head coach? :spock:

Interesting. I didn't know what the rules are with that but I wondered after that happened. Just never seen that happen.

yeah, that was a fantastic breakdown.

I'm glad he focused on that play at about the 5 minute mark a bit because that's one that history will forget and it was probably Pat's 2nd best throw of the night (the best as the TD to Kelce).

But that throw was just impossible. On 4th down, no less. There was just nothing there and he puts it in the one spot where Kelce can try to make a play on it while falling away from the direction he was throwing. It was awesome.

DJ's left nut 02-01-2024 09:48 AM

And for the "Arm strength is overrated" crowd - the throw to Kelce on the FG drive and the throw to Watson are just friggen seeds that don't work if you don't have a guy that can put that sucker on a line into a zone like that.

Jackson CAN'T make those plays and never will be able to. Because he simply lacks the raw arm strength to put a pill into a tight window.

Listening to Simms and some other pods it's funny to hear them dance around the Jackson stuff.

You can tell Simms knows but he just dances around and gives him some pass and excuses.

"They put guys in the box and played alot of man and wanted to keep the guy in teh pocket and throwing the ball".

That was a great play by Watson to be ready as Mahomes threw that before completing his drop.

Almost like MVS and Watson have picked Kelce's brain about going off script according to what the defense is doing

Boogereater spends way too much time whining about Kelce's "green-grass" routes. Kelce was 11 for 11 with 100+ yards. Won the game. Enough said.

The assumption should be that Lamar won’t win in the playoffs until he proves otherwise.

Plenty of opportunities to change that. Failed every time.

The truly staggering part is that I think Sunday proved that 'his' game CAN win....if he'd have played it.

He didn't.

Lamar proved that the problem isn't that he's a running QB - I think a guy with Lamar's gifts can/should win a SB someday. Maybe multiple.

The problem is that Lamar is dumb. He's just ****ing stupid. I don't understand how he didn't realize that he HAD to get his legs in the game. This 3rd read shit he was doing to prove a point wasn't going to work. We dared him to be a pocket passer and he took the bait.

Because he's dumb.

This shouldn't impact the 'narrative of the running QB' - it should impact the narrative of the stupid QB. If you lack the savvy to see what they're trying to make you do in-game and pivot, you're not going to win much in this league.

I understand the history of racism at the QB position but that shouldn’t matter in this instance. It’s MVP, Most Valuable Player. Say what you want about his ability to throw the football, no one argues that Lamar is not a ****ing phenomenal football player.

That's part of it, especially for the black commentators if they rip on Lamar they are going to be viewed poorly for doing that.

Shit as weird as it is to say this, there are fans that think Mahomes isn't a "black QB" cause well he isn't ghetto to be honest.

I mean Pat is biracial so you can't call him black while ignoring his white half. But with that said, he surely got his athletic ability from his dad's side, including his facial features.

CJ Stroud's mom is also biracial so that makes him partially biracial, too.

Thank goodness Marcellus Wiley isn't still on Speak, because he is the most racist black person I have ever listened to, and he really dislikes light skinned people, and always, always hypes the dark skinned players.

He would have eviscerated the offensive coordinator, and blamed him for Lamar not running more. He would find a way to explain how Mahomes got lucky, and Lamar is actually the best QB in the league.

Jason Whitless says that "race baiters" like Ryan Clark are to blame for Lamar Jackson not playing well, and he blames the race baiters for costing Baltimore a chance to win a SB.

My thought on why it’s so bad: they know they’re never making it with Lamar. This was the year, they couldn’t do it, it’s never happening. Especially now without the coaches they’ve lost. He will have his MVPs but will never play in a SB.

Yeah, it's sad how loud all that shit is these days with social media and now the mainstream media picking it up so often like they're obligated to answer to the idiots with megaphones. A few people like McAfee run with it and poke fun at it, but even that's kind of obnoxious after a while, because all we're talking about it the refs and NFL script.

It’s a crazy era we are witnessing - bunch of long suffering AFC franchises all have the best players in their franchise history at the same time.

KC with Mahomes.
Buffalo with Allen.
Cincy with Burrow.

You can argue Lamar for Baltimore, Herbert in LA. Now it’s Stroud in Houston.

And one MFer is preventing the rest from accomplishing the ultimate goal, in many of those franchises’ case, winning their first ever Super Bowl.

That has to be so brutal to deal with and thank goodness it’s the Chiefs doing the damage. Can you imagine Mahomes being like 80-90% of what he is and not being able to win it all because Allen was constantly in the way?

I’d probably lose my mind too. LMAO

Pasta Little Brioni 02-03-2024 11:43 AM

Ravens and the Refs gifted you that game. An absolute gift. We definitely didn't play well enough to win. I mean one of your td's to Kelce there was a hold and a hands to the face on the same play, yet the ref decided not to call a penalty.

You should destroy the Niners like we did.

You guys need to draft Penix. An actual thrower of the football would help you guys more than Lamar's dumbass

Ravens and the Refs gifted you that game. An absolute gift. We definitely didn't play well enough to win. I mean one of your td's to Kelce there was a hold and a hands to the face on the same play, yet the ref decided not to call a penalty.

You should destroy the Niners like we did.

On this planet, playoff pressure and experience is a very real thing.

Safety not called in the endzone. Holding not called on Ravens on their only TD drive on 4th down. The hold on the Rice TD wasn't a hold...**** off

QB Chiefs
RB Chiefs
WR TE Chiefs
OL Chiefs
DL Chiefs
LB Baltimore
Secondary Chiefs

None of that is arguable other than LB Chiefs are deeper

Not true. Chiefs beat your ass even with taking the foot off the gas. If the game was called correctly you don't even score and KC gets another TD on the phantom hold on the Rice TD.

I have the Chiefs at 24-3 on legit points

Steelers also beat their ass for a legit win in Pittsburgh. I also have the Rams beating them if the game was called correctly

Ravens coaching staff has been pillaged

By taking 7 pts off the board on a terrible holding call?

Or by missing a blatant tripping penalty in the end zone that should've resulted in a safety?

Or blowing the whistle awfully early on a play where the Chiefs forced a fumble?

How did the refs gift KC the game?

You mean 26. Ravens got away with a blatant tripping penalty on Chris Jones in the Baltimore end zone. Should have been a Safety and possession of the ball for KC.

Wasn't a gift when Sneed took your rookie's lunch money in this game.

Forced error.

And look who he has beaten in the playoffs so far…

Ryan Tannehill and CJ Stroud (talented yes, but still a rookie).

That’s a better list than the QBs Allen has beaten in the playoffs.

LMAO

The Bengals had their shot. They were winning in the 4th quarter of the Super Bowl two years ago.

There are definite similarities between the Chiefs, Bengals, Bills. All three went about 20 to 30 years between playoff wins. All small market teams. All are now contenders because they drafted a franchise QB. That's the blueprint for many other long suffering franchises to follow.

The Chiefs aren't always going to hold these other franchises down. Bad bounces, injuries, free agency, etc. Shit happens even if you have Mahomes. That's why it's so important to capitalize on these SB chances when they came.

I actually have us beating you 26-3 now. Forgot the safety. Chiefs also forced a fumble the refs wrongly blew early so I might have KC at 33-3...oof

mr. tegu 02-03-2024 01:05 PM

Let's Talk About Baltimore (AFC Championship)

I actually think the play calls were pretty good given how much green grass was available on almost every single pass play. Lamar just wouldn’t take it. He wanted to prove himself as a passer but he also just looked kind of slow, like he didn’t trust his speed, which definitely looked a bit slower than we are used to.

Pasta Little Brioni 02-03-2024 01:05 PM

Bengals shit their pants against a Rams team the Chiefs would have beaten.

Joe is a choker. Has he ever played well in the 4th quarter in the big game.
