My bad then. Apologies.

I'd love Venables, but at this point it is hard for me to speculate about anything going on, it's like full-on CIA shit going on in there. And maybe Venables wants to stay a coordinator.

I talked with someone close to Zenger yesterday, and this person said it was like he was in the CIA or NSA, but with better security. He is adamant about not wanting any leaks. I'm beginnning to doubt the Malzahn rumors myself.

Venables has a pretty secure job right now. With the state KU is in, I'm not sure I see him jumping ship within the conference . That being said, Venables makes around $500k a year if I remember correctly. So a potential 400% pay increase can change that line of thinking fairly quickly

Kirby was on 810 this morning and stated that he thinks Malzahn would take the job if offered. Maybe hinting that he thinks he's our fallback guy? He said flat out Fulmer is not being considered, neither is Christensen.

Yeah. That's not Mike Anderson making $2.3 million and threatening to take another job because it pays $2.3 million plus a $50 gas card each month.

Venables has inteeviewed a few times and never gotten an offer. I think he's just never made the cut....

I think he'd be great for KU (as a KSU fan).

Not at a Gill level, but more Terry Allen. I think it's telling he's on one of the most successful staffs in the country and has interviewed several times to no avail. Hell, IIRC he lost out at New Mexico to Locksley.

Wasn't Snyder on Hayden Fry's staff for several years before getting the KSU job?

Just heard Fedora is officially going to NC... that shoe has dropped which (from my understanding) was the one everyone was waiting on before moving forward with their decisions.

It's official. All the best to him. He was in my opinion the best option we had.

Larry Fedora has reached agreement to become the new coach at North Carolina, a source confirmed to ESPN's Joe Schad.

Fedora led Southern Miss to an upset of previously undefeated Houston in the Conference USA championship game. The Golden Eagles finished the season 11-2 and will play Nevada in the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl.

Fedora was 33-19 at Southern Miss, his first head coaching job after assistant coaching positions at Florida and Oklahoma State.

Fedora's deal is subject to approval by North Carolina chancellor Holden Thorp, as well as the university's board of trustees.

The Tar Heels are looking for a permanent coach to replace Butch Davis, who was fired shortly before training camp amid an NCAA investigation into the program.
