And Travis Kelse turns 34 in October ...

Any questions? ROFL

Seriously ... Travis isn't the only guy over 30 who can still bring his "A" game.

I wouldn't be afraid to sign DeHop for two years. Would give the younger receivers time tto develop in Andy's system.

And a three-peat on Super Bowls sounds GREAT to me!

How is losing your top 2 receiving threats at about the same time funny

That's not what's funny ...

You alluded to the fact that DeHop turns 31 in June and questioned his abilities at that age. I simply pointed out that the best tight end in football is still playing at a world class level at 34. Give DeHop a chance here. He pretty much has the best hands in football at the wide receiver position.

And yes ... I acknowledge that 2 years from now the party may be over for both Travis and DeHop ... and that part's not funny ... but that's football.

Hopefully the guys behind them will be groomed and ready to step up without the Chiefs losing a beat. After all ... Patrick Mahomes at 29 is going to be even better than he is today. He can make stars out of the new guys just like he did for the many players who have come through this system.

But remember this ... Tony G played at a very high level until he was 38 ... and Jerry rice into his 40's ... so don't be so sure that 2 years is all these two great players have.

Time will tell.

Gonzo moved in molasses at different time in lb speed. Just because Hopkins would give me some stiffness does not mean it's the right move. Unless your objective is to restrict the future

BWillie 05-28-2023 05:29 PM

I saw him at Marshalls off of 119th street looking at a Chiefs hoodie

Dilly dilly!

in 2022 MVS and JuJu were the starters ...

But that didn't stop Mercole, Moore, Toney, and Watson from making significant contributions to us becoming Worls Champions again.

In Andy's system EVERYONE contributes! But getting DeHop replaces JuJu ... and the other receivers will STILL PLAY and make contributions when needed.

It's not a matter of restricting the future ... it a matter of being the best damn team in football once again.

A big name receiver is NOT going to restrict anyone's growth. It's a team effort and with a receiver like DeHop ... KC will be feared and respected.

The younger guys will still get their playing time and have their chance to shine. This is the golden era for KC Chiefs football.

Let's steamroll the compition for as long as we possibly can.

The bottom line ... our opinions don't count for squat here. Andy and Bart Varch will make the call.

And they haven't done too damn bad lately.

See. I see Mahomes better because of a better defense. Which was aquired by trading a high dollar ball hog. If the defense can go rookie. Coming off a Super Bowl win, the WRs can too

But those players are exceptions to the rule

Going back ten years you rarely see players over 30 31 in the top ten

Julio jones had 1300 yards at 30. 31 700. 32 400lsst year 290

History and stats overwhelmingly support not paying that much money to aa WR over 31

Everybody's measuring stick, Brady. Had Belichick on the otherside

Why doesn't this piece of shit have 1k posts yet

Rainbarrel 05-28-2023 06:03 PM

Tony G in Atlanta was hard to watch. Marino in leg braces was the only thing sadder on a football field

I respect what you're saying but ...

I'm greedy ... and I'll tell you why.

I've been following Chiefs football for 60 years. I had season tickets back in the 70's and 80's when they looked like crap. The 90's brought new hope but they could never "seal the deal" and win big playoff games. Dick Vermeil rought us new hope in the early 2000's ... but that prolific offense couldn't make up for year after year of bad defenses.

Andy Reid's teams were great ... but in 2017 the world of Chiefs football changed forever. And you know exctly what I'm talking about.

This Chiefs team today is THAT GOOD ... top to bottom ... THAT GOOD!

A receiver like DeHop is the missing piece to what I believe ....

Could be the first undefeated season since the 1972 Dolphins.

I ****ing HATE the Miami Dolphins. I was at the 1971 playoff game that we lost in 2 overtimes. The sad part is that the Chiefs were clearly the best team in football in 1971. and they got beat by 3 points because our kicker couldn't make a chip shot.

So I want to erase that 50 year record of an undefeated season.

And THIS Chiefs team ... can do just that in 2023.

So please forgive my passion for a greedy, older receiver that can help us accomplish that.

How much of that was due to the god awful falcons offense tho? Players don’t play in a vacuum. It is a team sport.
