Long term, it's likely the best move. Mahommes find his way in 2018, meaning it will be 2019/2020 until KC is realistically rocking with him and the team had some key holes.
So, trade Peters (wasn't going to be around in 2019/2020 apparently) and rebuild at key areas so that when 2019/2020 get here, the team is set up well for a run. |

Dudes only 26, and as I stated in that thread... 'two brothers together might bring a certain syncronicity' Make it happen, Veach |
The one good thing about this is that Veach isn’t sitting around being passive about reloading this defense. He’s been aggressive as **** ever since taking this job and has already brought us Kendall Fuller and Reggie Ragland as cornerstone pieces and it’s not even FA yet.
I think Veach has many more moves coming seeing that Steven Nelson was in the talks today for this trade. This is exactly what Howie Roseman did to turn an average Eagles team into a SB champion. |
For awhile now I was counting on Peters taking up $15-18M in cap space per year from 2019-2024...
Now that money is open. Where will it be used? |
Maybe I’m delusional, but it doesn’t seem to me like this team was ready for a rebuild. Even if you can’t sign Peters to a deal you had him next year to play with a healthy Berry and the best young slot CB in the game. I was excited. Now it’s all blown to shit. Replacing all pro CB’s with draft picks is such a stupid gamble. You just don’t let all pro CB’s leave while still playing on their rookie deal. Makes no ****ing sense. **** this!!!
