They have the poorest owner in the league. Most of the owners have other outside revenue streams. The Bengals are the only revenue stream for Brown.

The NFL's requirement that all guaranteed dollars be covered and placed in escrow could be a real limiting factor in how the Bengals retain some of these guys or what they can do in their contracts.

Those rolling guarantees the Chiefs used in Mahomes' contract? Those have to be covered whenever they activate.

Things you never hear from arrowhead… players calling out fans for being fairweather.

Been to the city many times and it checks out. Hell stadium attendance dips to something like 50k in the years the team was under .500. Compared to their typical 60k+. They get a pass because everyone feels sorry for their long history of disappointment but arrowhead was rocking even during some truly awful years in the 2000s. Attendance has generally always been at capacity.

To be fair, they're barely talking at all. That forum is dead.

They were good this year, but not good enough. They have regressed a bit and now they have to deal with cap problems.

When the history of the Bills is written regarding the Josh Allen era, they won't be crying over the 2020 or 2022. It will be 2021 that fills them with regrets about what could have been.

Not sure if you're agreeing or disagreeing with me but you're strengthening my point.

None of this is guaranteed. You need to capitalize while you can. The Bengals could fall off next season and it wouldn't be unprecedented.

They won’t have a cap monster until then. But they’re going to feel the hit relatively soon. you’ve got lots of guys in the secondary up for contract next year, as well as Hayden hurst who will likely get a pay bump. I just cannot see tee Higgins OR Boyd sticking around past 2024 and that’s huge.

Burrow likely gets paid next year so that’s going to hit next year. I imagine chase gets paid the year after.

So yeah, I think you see a steady drop followed by a HUGE drop.

I'm also not sure if you're agreeing or disagreeing with me lol

Burrow's got pressure on him. They're in a great spot, but there is always pressure to deliver a Super Bowl.

We have three turnovers against the Bengals in three games. Cincinnati has only turned it over once. Sneed picked him off at Arrowhead when he forced a throw to Chase.

Burrow threw another would-be interception to Thornhill early in the last game had McDuffie not been called for incredibly weak pass interference.

All of the off years were under .500 seasons. Even 6-7 win seasons which is hardly terrible. Most of their good years were double digit win seasons.

Speaks volumes. You don’t see anything remotely close to this dip in kc or buffalo. These are gigantic dips when the team is anything short of playoff strong.

All KCs D-line will hear about this week is how they haven’t closed against Cincy. They will hear the trash talk. It will fester all week until kickoff when they will be ready to eat Burrow alive. I’m here to say, with certainty, they will relentlessly punish Cincy’s front 5 and Burrow’s rib cage. Spags game plan should just be called “HEAT” because that’s why they are bringing all night on Sunday.

Our players only call our fans toxic! :)

I’m mostly agreeing with you but I think the drop will happen quicker than they think. They sure are acting casual about this being the first of many easy trips to a championship.

I brought this up to a Bengal fan and he was confused....

I wasn't disagreeing with you, just elaborating the point about the Bills.

Haha, yup. But they did show up. And we even flew a damn banner. People may call our fan base many things but dispassionate isn’t one of them.

Funny thing is I think it was a bengals fan on Twitter who roasted chiefs fans for not caring until we won. Only to find out she used to be a huge fan of Lamar or some shit like that
