Yep, I was hoping that we could trade back and still get Nix later, but with the Penix pick, that thought went out the window. Obviously I would have rather had more picks by trading back, but I'm certain Nix wouldn't have been available anymore.

LMAO It's not like OT is a massive need for them and there were two top prospects.

This is really all that needs to be said.

They can sit there all they want and talk about how much they love the player now that he's a Bronco, but it says a lot that they wanted him more after a trade back, and wouldn't even consider trading up.

Nothing about that screams "our guy".

Exactly. Hell, they outright admitted they knew the Raiders could trade in front of them for him and decided to just stay pat and hope they didn't.

The desire to trade back had a lot to do with the fact that Denver is missing three first round picks and three second round picks due to the Russ and Payton trades.

They didn’t trade back because they were terrified they’d miss out on their guy.

#BroncosTwitter believes a Sutton to Pittsburgh trade is imminent.

Spin, spin, spin.

We're talking about a franchise QB here KnowMo. A trade down isn't even on your mind if he's "our guy".

The cupboards are bare in Denver! Another fourth/fifth rounder won't fix that

And this is supposed to be a good thing for you guys? Franklin and Mims as your starters?

Sassy Squatch 04-29-2024 06:09 PM

Remember when the General had day 2 picks on the table for Jeudy and ended up shipping him off for a 5th?

Yup, and if they're trading Sutton after the draft, that return is likely going to suck too.

I guess I am in the minority of Chiefs fans who hate that Denver drafted Nix and Franklin.

I look at Nix, and I think about Drew Brees. There isn't a single thing that Brees could do physically, that Nix doesn't do as well or better.

I am not saying that Nix is going to be Drew Brees, but Sean Payton took a relatively weak armed, short QB with little mobility, and turned him into a HOFer who may be the best player in NFL history to never win an MVP, so I don't get why people are so confident Nix won't be successful.
