Only way you can get 3 teams is if you have BCS 1 AND 2 and NEITHER is the auto-bid.

The only way that can happen is if the 2 teams from the same conference in the title game are not the conference champs. For example, had Georgia won the SEC Championship than they would be in the Sugar Bowl while Alabama/LSU, if #1 and #2 in the BCS Standings, would be in the BCSNCG.
