Nope, picking a third round player at #1 would have been wise because he's a QB.

The Jets traded away the best CB in the game and then drafted a CB and a D-lineman, while leaving the offensive cupboard as bare as any in the league. They're now scrambling to get a QB who might make up for the disastrous QB decision they made in 2009 (which many of the same GENO!!!! idiots were screaming for back then), but even they waited until the second round. Using them as an example of anything besides painful stupidity is probably not the way to go.

Just Go Away jeez

@APdaveskretta: #Chiefs GM John Dorsey blitzed out of Eric Fisher presser, needed to get back on phone with #Dolphins GM Jeff Ireland re: Branden Albert.

While I love Sheldon Richardson, they have two competent players in Coples and Wilkerson who can play the same position. If they move to a 4-3 fully and/or move Coples to a 7tech, they are probably morons. The guy is best suited as an interior pass rusher.

I love how even the worst of worst teams try to fix their QB situation and make bold moves. Bills and Jets will have a better draft than us.

Well assuming this is true which is doubtful since the Jets already passed on him twice, maybe they feel like the rest of the league - that around the middle of the second or lower is the right value for him, and probably not until at least one more QB comes off the board.

I also don't think it's fair to compare Brady Quinn and Geno Smith.

Not fair to Brady Quinn, he only fell to #22

I think I just JIMP a little.

Just to be clear. If we can get a second rounder for Albert and Geno is available at that pick, I would be all for it.

Pretty sure only racists would be against it.

People bringing up Geno and his character concerns while hoping for Tyler Bray later down the line.

They're stupid, but even they are not trading into 1.1 for a second round player.

...and in 6 months realize that they are still under .500 and the franchise has sold 16 total Eric Fisher jerseys, and they are destined to pick a guard a 1.1 next season

In case you missed it, 1.X is no longer on the board.

@RapSheet: For #Chiefs and Branden Albert: They'll be disappointed if a trade doesn't happen. BUT: GM John Dorsey loves the player. So, there's that

It won't happen. Lets focus on the 3rd round fellas.

I didn't miss it. In case you missed it, Geno Smith wasn't a first round pick in the 2013 draft, despite all the CP calls for him to be taken at 1.1.

Dorsey love's him so much he waived the tampering clause to help facilitate a trade.

So tired of hearing about the "love" the Chiefs have for Albert.
