First of all, he isn't going to come back and play well right off the bat. He isn't in "football shape" for one and two, he's going to playing with some level of pain, probably a lot of pain. Again, it's a deformity, not an injury. Everything we've read to this point suggests it's not going to get better, he's going to have to play through it.

Second, it's a 16-game season. There won't be a Super Bowl run if we don't win the right games along the way.

That's why he needs to play sooner rather than later.

One is causing the other, correct?

Eric Berry is a warrior. I have no doubts he can battle through this and come back strong. He did it before and I have confidence he will do it again.

“Pain” a lot of it depends on our perception and threshold. If those two factors are compromised, then there is always different treatment approaches or strategies to help manage the pain.

There are so many things he could do to minimize pain and increase comfort. He could constantly ice his heal, massage it, wear padings or insoles to minimize shock absorption so that way not as much pressure is applied to the heal area. Heck, give him some pain killers as well!! Im no doctor but I do believe with the right treatment approaches and strategies, plus seeing how Eric Berry is as an individual, I feel he could overcome this.

All we need him for is at the most important times, the playoffs! And when the season is done he could get surgical procedures in place to shave off those bone spurs in his heal and then go from there.

Now I know the amount we are paying him isn’t worth lets say 2 or 3 games he plays during the season, but what the heck? Shit happens in life and we gotta deal with it. The fact that Berry is staying with the team and opted not to go on the IR list says he is not a quitter.

What are you going to say when he's close to coming back in the Divisional round? AFCCG? Super Bowl?

2 weeks until the Super Bowl...Will Berry return coach?

He's close, I would say day to day. It's like a scene from airplane where the plane makes an emergency landing and the guy pops in the cockpit saying I just wanted to let you know good luck we're all counting on you.

You sure do like to work it both ways.

Whatever man you got it all figured out.

Berry could play. Needle the area up and go play. He's afraid of another injury. He won't as long we are not in desperation games.

We had better get homefield throughout I don't think anyone can feel comfortable going into New England in the playoffs. I know it would be a crapshoot at best.

Whatever man. It's a freaking message board discussion. I don't know anything more than anybody else.

I guess we should just stop and shut this place down because discussion is bad.

Depends on your definition of "discussion".

A few weeks ago you were adamant that Earl Thomas makes us an absolute SB contender.

Today you are posting you wished you had never gotten invested in the team again because "Chiefs".

Thats hard ****ing swing.

Blowing one of the best 2nd half performances by a QB in NFL history can do that to a person. Just saying...

And by the way, Earl Thomas would have likely been covering Gronk Sunday night. Chiefs win that game with ET.

Ah I see, so we are 1 play from being undefeated now.....:hmmm:

Like I responded in the other thread, enjoy bearing that cross for everyone while we enjoy the Mahomes show.

We're 1 play from being firmly in the driver's seat for HFA throughout the playoffs, which is mega important, like it or not.

I'm not the only one that feels that way but evidently you feel the need to single me out.

This isnt true at all.

Kiimo 10-17-2018 12:36 PM

He can't even practice so I'm not sure what "needling the area up" would do. You can only do that a few times before it starts eating your tissue. You can't needle the area up enough times for him to get back into playing shape, which itself would take probably a month.
