I'm actually kinda intrigued on how Geno will play against the Titans. That's a decent defense and he struggled against the better defenses in college.

It should also be interesting to see how Alex does against the same defense shortly after.

Very interesting, friend.

Very interesting, indeed.

We will watch with GREAT interest.

Why is that pathetic?

You guys have gone to great lengths to say that Genos wins came because of his defense and use 3-0 as every argument towards propping up KC.

Average starting field position combined with points scored is a great indicator of how effective an offense is at scoring points on their own volition.

True or false?

I never said Geno wins because of defense. I said he won one game due to a reerun who plays for Tampa

BossChief 09-25-2013 05:46 PM

ITS NOT AN OBSESSION WITH GENO SMITH, DUMBASS. ITS AN OBSESSION WITH WANTING A FIRST ROUND QUARTERBACK DRAFTED BY THE CHIEFS OVER TRADING/SIGNING SOME OTHER TEAMS LEFTOVERS.

Marcellus 09-25-2013 05:47 PM

This really is the CP Perfect Storm.

Geno is 2-1 and the Chiefs are 3-0.

I do expect massive separation soon.

LMAO

Hmmm, why no interest in EJ? He was drafted in the first.

BossChief 09-25-2013 05:50 PM

One thing's FOR SURE.

That whole predraft argument of "there are no quarterbacks worth a first round pick" is destroyed.

I liked Manuel and said many times that I would love for him to be the pick. I just think Geno is a better player.

Truth be told, I thought NY was the absolute worst place he could have been drafted for every reason under the sun...I'm surprised he is doing as well as he is, given the circumstances.

1) he only had 1100 receiving yards in the regular season.

2) A little over half of those yards (615) were gained in the post-Alex Smith season, with Kaepernick throwing him the ball.

I fixed the yards, purely a typo.

So about half of those yards are attributed to Smith, doesn't that pretty much put the lie to "he cant throw to a covered guy".

It doesnt really matter in the end anyway, some people are happy to see what Alex and Andy can do, some will always be disappoint no matter what because of what could have been with some rookie.

I hope you can find some fun this year, I know I will.

I wanted us to trade for Alex Smith. I also didn't want that move to prohibit us from continuing to search high and low for a guy that can take the job from him at some point.

I have hundreds of posts detailing how I wanted Alex AND Geno.

I even wanted Geno to sit this year and learn behind Alex.

You're goddamned right it does. People certainly took the opportunity to shit on the Geno supporters after he went in the second round, presumably due to intangible issues that none of us draftabulators were privvy to. These people didn't man up and put their balls on the band saw before the draft. They just sit back and take pot-shots at those of us who have enough testicular fortitude to have an opinion without the benefit of hindsight.

Most of us that have the balls to offer our opinions before a mass perception has taken place, stick to those opinions because we formed them through our own digestion of information.

That doesn't mean we don't watch the Chiefs game these guys chose to put together and get excited, but with different parameters.

Yeah, we sure would have missed that 173 yards on 34 attempts in a game we took the ball away 5 times.

What did Alex do that was irreplaceable by what Geno has given his offense in terms of moving the ball and scoring points?

First off, we didn't take ball away 5 times from the cowboys and Alex had 225 yards passing and had basically 300 yards of offense.

He also didn't turn it over against the cowboys, who's defense, especially dl is pretty good this year.

Without a single doubt no ****ing way.

I just rewatched the Eagles game.

What screwed the offense was penalties on the OL (6 of them), dropped passes early, and an unbelievable ability to not convert 3rd and short with the running game. Hell we were good on 3rd and long for the most part.

Yes Alex had a few WTF moments. Maybe 2 or 3 out of about 72 plays.

And the pass Barwin could have intercepted which never happens when you hit a LB in the gut when they jump, it was whiff by the OL.

I didn't say Alex had a bad game in any of the three games we have played.

I asked if we could have had an equal amount of wins with Geno.

It's somewhat misleading in the header, geno has thrown for 3 tds.

He does have a rushing td, but Alex has been much better overall rushing the football from the pocket

Alex has been asked to run with it a lot more than Geno has, but Geno has been more effective.

Alex has 23 carries for 113 yards
Geno has 13 for 78 and a td

Geno averages more than a full yard more per carry.

Also, Geno averages about a yard and a half more per pass attempt, too.

I'm curious about he pro geno guys. If you were the Gm and he did to you what it was reported he did in interviews, partnered with his on field play, would you have drafted him first overall?

Hammock Parties 09-25-2013 08:54 PM

It depends. Those reports weren't very concrete or specific. I doubt he was actually texting DURING the interview. Likely it was before and after, and it got blown out of proportion.

Alex is running more because he's scared to pass.

Those aren't designed runs.

I'm actually impressed with how little Geno is running. A lot of young guys who run a 4.6 would just take off more.

Nope.

Rushing first downs:

Geno - 5

Alex - 4

Most of Alex's scrambles are little 3-yard nothings because he's scared to throw.
