What does age have to do with cost controlled players that are starters?

Most of their starters are either on their rookie contracts or just started their 2nd contracts. Theyve actually done a really good job of being aggressive but also keeping the roster young and competitive for the future.

Is it? I'm not sure. He has played with a very good Robert Quinn lately and hasn't really impressed.

Maybe Bosa taking the attention will change things.

He had 6 sacks in 7 games, then broke his foot. Seems like he’s still pretty good.

Cheaper than Frank Clark.

Of course.

And without those picks, they're going to be hard pressed to backfill their roster with quality depth or replace starters when the time comes.

Plus they're going to have to give a new deal to Stafford here as well, plus pay OBJ and Von Miller if they want to keep them.

Please tell me all the good starters that the Rams have on rookie contracts?

Veach and Reid better have something up their sleeves. That's all you can hope at this point.

So could we have afforded Mack or nah?

Currently? Not really. It would have for sure cost us Ward and that's even with a Frank Clark release.

FloridaMan88 03-10-2022 04:35 PM

The Raiders got first round draft picks for Mack and Cooper and now both of their respective teams are moving on from them this offseason, getting less compensation in return (in the case of Cooper/Dallas maybe no compensation if they release him).

Too bad for the Raiders that they failed to capitalize on the draft picks received from those trades.

None of these moves made have made other teams better than us. There us absolutely no reason to depart from whatever plan Reid/Veach have

But he changed the culture!!!

Did his job! Have you ever SEEN that guy set an edge? Jesus, I'm rock hard just thinking about it. Dude sets an edge like Bode Miller out there.

I would have gave up a 1st rd and a 3rd rounder for Mack - let alone what the Chargers gave up. But I guess our cap situation couldn't make it happen.

AdolfOliverBush 03-10-2022 04:37 PM

He just turned 31 and played in 7 games last year. Color me unworried.

That's better than I thought. Must of blacked out anytime the Bears were on.

Exactly. While I'm surprised they didn't get more compensation, they need picks and they need to free up some cash. Their priority right now should be upgrading the OL and keeping Fields alive until the can emerge from Pace's shadow.
