But this isn't a debate I am interested in tonight so I will stop there. :)

Yep.

My main gripe is that so many people see church as the end all "everything" of a religion.

I think church is one tool of many in someone's spiritual journey which is the most personal thing someone can have.

You've made my point exactly. The leaders then were corrupt...just as many Churches are corrupt or immoral today, whether they be Catholic or Protestant.

I can agree with that to some extent. I think there are a lot Churches that do a lot of good too. We sure don't hear about them much though. I do agree with some of Zach's views on this subject seeing how I don't really go to Church much, but I have strong belief in God.

Yeah, but Catholic Church is the grand daddy of them all. The only religion I can respect is Hindu, only recently is it turning into a hate tool.

And, yeah, Zach I completely agree with you.

Kind of a funny story...

My freshman year in the dorms during one of the longer breaks they installed some kind of switch in everyone's room but they tossed around the place to do it.

When I got back I went into my room and my roomate was sleeping and his side looked clean but my side was a freaking mess. There was crap everywhere. I didn't leave it like that. On top of a heap of my stuff was a small brochure that had something to do with the local student group Cathlic ministry type thing. The kid that lived next door to me and was a friend walked in (he was Catholic) I looked at him and screamed "Dan! Catholics trashed my room over break!!" He looked at me and laughed and explained he accidently left the brochure in my room a few hours ago while talking to my roomate.

ROFL

Ya know what goat boy…I was almost ready to concede to the fact you had grown up.
But no!
You start slamming the pope with snide remarks.
When YOU can speak 9 languages, and fluently read and write 12,

THEN you can try some trash talking. At least the man has an IQ higher than a Jar Jar Binks action figure, too bad you can’t say the same.

Dave:
…”Hmmm when the Catholics killed 10s of thousands of Jews in Spain I guess that didn't count. The Catholic Churchs hands are filthy in the blood of murder.”

And so are EVERY OTHER Religious organization which condoned sending troops to fight in wars through out the ages.

“Thow shalt not kill” Exodus 20:13

Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t your fine president a church going man who as a religious person should know the 10 commandments, yet freely condon’s ANY ACTION including the killing of people to “Keep America safe” ?

No person in the history of mankind, who headed a large political or religious organization has NOT failed to blast that one all to hell.

Yeah the Catholics have their problems, but show me just ONE organization on earth run by Government, Religion, or common man that doesn’t.

Not trying to stir things up, but I think there is "ONE" worldwide religion that can stake claim and deserves a little historical credit. The JW's claim they are politically neutral and it is against their bible based religion to kill their fellow man. I remember there was a guy at a body shop who painted a car for me a few years ago, that was a JW. He told me of his and his fellow believers imprisonment during the Vietnam War because of his religious beliefs. I totally gained respect for him and his religion after actually talking to him and hearing about his story and also the Nazi WW2 stories. Below are some Google links.
