I work in a cubicle and it sounds like cadmonkey and I do the same thing. All I know is if I played that crap around here, and had an attitude about it, I'd be fired instantly. My boss likes music but can't stand anything loud. He freaked out on me last January when I was listening online to the Greg Robinson "I quit tearfest". I didn't think it was that loud but he did. Sometimes you have to do what the boss wants even if he's an assclown.

Here is a suggestion that I thought of. Listen to the music really loud on some headphones so that you can't hear anybody talking to you. Then when your boss taps you one the shoulder to get your attention, spin around really quickly in your chair and point a Glock at him. That would probably get his attention.

I need to clear something up. It isn't like I had the sh*t pumping and the whole office could hear it. I have just loud enough for me and the two other people in my cube to hear.

My Dept. head, not really my boss all though he thinks he is, came in to area. I run my area as a tight ship and get things done. He came in and because he didn't like "music that starts with R" wanted me to turn it off.

I'm not some low level shlub who is on the chopping block. I am in Managment training, which means they are keeping me around. This guy was just trying to pull rank, throw his weight around, and just be a dick about being boss.

I'm a bigger dick and know how to use it.
