Metro Sports also covered it but they took an "anybody's guess" approach. Dave Stewart leaned toward Trotter re-signing with the Eagles, so I don't think he knows anymore than the rest of us.

I saw the latest Sports Center and Mort kind of back-peddled from his earlier statement. Earlier he made it sound it was all but done, I noticed we both had an earlier thread on it, so I wanted to get your take on his latest comments compared to earlier.

I still think we have a good shot at Trotter, I just think Mort jumped the gun.

I would say it's a safe bet that since Carl was out of town, Denny only worked the #'s and if Trotter wants to be in KC, an announcement will come tomorrow if Carl is in town.

I think we have a great shot, but I think it's bad journalism to say a "deal is imminent" when he wasn't even in town yet.

His agent likely leaked that info for one of 2 reasons.
1) To get the news out there to the Eagles so they increase their offer
2) Because Trotter really wants to be a Chief

I guess we will find out tomorrow.
