This game RULES. It plays much the same as 2004, with new tackling and running animations, so it's more fluid.
The WR drops are definitely fixed. I'm just playing default Race for the Heisman as Iowa to get used to it. Beat Ball State 33-7. Beat Iowa State 28-17 in a VERY tough game. Beat UNI 56-0. The running game is definitely too easy on Varsity, but it will be easy to fix. |
Post your sliders on AA when you get them set, Parker. Please. :)

I played the game the other night, and I finally got my first 3 and out. However, when I sacked the QB on third down, my DE did a little dance, and I got called for unsportsmanlike conduct. The CPU then proceded to score on me the next play.

I just watched all the cameos. OU was the only Big XII school to get any features, and they only got a few. Bitches. Even friggin WAZZOU got a bunch of cameos.
Stupid coastal biased EA Sports! |

This may have been discussed before I was a member, but I have a real problem with 2005. Once recruiting is finished, half of the prospects never sign with anyone, so it's almost impossible to fill a roster. Is there any way around that? |
Hopefully be monday i'll have this game.

To everyone that has it or will soon, keep posting your feelings on the game... luckily I don't have time to play it now, or I might just buy it for the hell of it.

Here's my feelings on race for the Heisman:
Your player starts out bad. Obviously you'd expect as much from a freshman, but they plug him in as starter anyway. I'm currently like a 80 overall RB, starting ahead of 5 guys that are much better than me. Not only is that stupid, it sucks playing a RB that has 74 speed, because runs to the outside rarely work. Even with the low attribute score, after 5 games, I'm running away with the Heisman race. I ran HB dive for 295 yds and a 12.5 yard average against UNI. It will interesting to see how much my player grows after the first year, but I actually feel like I should see progression even during the season. Also, if I'm going to win the Heisman in my first year anyway, what's the point of playing all four years? My overall impression is the Race for Heisman doesn't do well as a stand alone. If you could include it in dynasty, it would be cool. As it stands, you might as well play dynasty and win Heismans anyway. Also, I noticed the picture of my girlfreind on my dorm computer started as as an ugly pig, but after only 5 games, she seems to be better looking. Anyone else notice this? |

Hell, in NCAA '04 All American, I can use Nick Reid on every play and win back to back to back Heismans on Dynasty mode :p |

I guess the thing that turns me off the most is having to play a crappy player. I chose a RB, and against better teams I have to run the ball up the gut 35 times just to get 120 yards. Your player starts out so bad, it's like a grind to get him into the Heisman race. I have to neglect the other players on my team just so my crappy, slow, freshman RB can get stats that will get him noticed. I can't imagine how bad it would have been had I chosen to play a QB or LB. I'll probably finish out my season, and may play all 4 years, but after that, it's strictly Dynasty for me. |
RFTH is for more casual players who don't want to deal with the micro-managing and numerous tasks of the normal dynasty mode. I'm a dynasty guy all the way, but including a simpler way to go through the season for the numerous casual players was smart move.

I've played it for the last hour, and I just can't get used to the movements of the players. Madden is so much smoother than NCAA. One change of direction, and you can juke the defenders out of their jocks. Even playing online...
