Just another typical "look at me" thread from Vlad.

I think we will be fine, but let me jump on the bandwagon with all the doom bringers.

But you can be honest, there isn't a situation in which a year could go by where you wouldn't make one of these threads before the season.

If you have become soooooo miserable in following this little drama over the past (fill in the blank) years, that you now have to prepare yourself for horrible, rotten seasons just to be able to cope it's time to hang them up. Take up something else. All it takes in this league is a little luck and it can make all the difference between 6-10 and 12-4. Luck. One way or the other. Just calm the **** down.

Being serious for a moment who are you to tell us we should find another hobby. I have seen the good times (two Super Bowls) and suffered the eighties and the Carl Peterson 17 year plan. This team it seems is cursed to some sort of failure on the order of the Boston Red Sox. Yet people will still follow them just like the people still follow the Cubs and Red Sox in the slight hope that there will one day be that grand and glorious year like the Red Sox fans had a couple of years ago. Won't stop complaining and suffering until it happens and that is part of being a loyal Chiefs fan.

Actually last year I did not make one of these threads until well into the season. I thought the offseason went really well last year and was incredibly optimistic after we traded our 2nd for Surtain and got DJ in the draft. I even predicted an AFC championship with a loss in the Super Bowl.

I think its funny that you always have these "it's over before it starts" threads before the season starts. This is becoming a tradition and expected at this point.

I am ready for the season, let's see what happens!

FWIW, I know just exactly how you feel.

Actually here is what I said before the start of last season.

...

OK now having said all that:
I believe we will still finish top 5 offense

I believe we will finish in the top 12 defensively

I believe that we had a really awful year injury wise and that balance says we are more fortunate this year.

I actually remember those posts, but how do you go from that to doom and gloom yet again, because of the Roaf retiring? We don't know what we got in offensive line, might as well atleast try a wait and see approach rather than throwing in the towel already. Hopefully our defense will be alot better and our new tackle can do 'decent', My hopes went down a little bit with this retiring, but i still think we got a pretty good shot at having a good season, hopefully more.

It is not just Roaf, remember that Welbourne also retired and Kennison is threatening to hold out. That is two fifths of our offensive line and our only legitimate WR that might not play. Add to that going back to the Marty Philosophy on offense and I have definitely got very little in exectations now.

Hammock Parties 07-29-2006 05:32 PM

We are NOT going back to Martyball.

God.

Even if we did, I sure as wouldn't be happy about it.

Correction, eh hem-----Larry Johnson!!

milkman 07-29-2006 07:29 PM

How many times de we have to say this?

Martyball is not maulball.

Maulball is dominating the opponent with the running game.
Maulball is an aggressive approach to demoralizing the opponent by dominating the line of scrimmage and the clock in an effort to win the game.

Martyball is playing in a passive manner in the hopes of not losing.
