This movie totally sucked me in. That was pretty much the point of the movie though, to suck you in to the characters' perspective of the shit that's going down around them. This is also why you won't get an explanation of where the monster came from or wtf it is. With the timeline that is presented in the movie, it would even cheapen the movie to have a scientist in there trying to explain it, so I applaud their decision to leave it out. I imagine the sequel will go more into where the thing came from.

I was tense for practically the entire movie. I even went into a mini anxiety attack at one point and the dude next to me kept shaking his leg. Lots of action, lots of suspense, lots of freaky shit. I had a drink when I got home to "wind down" from it.

Upon further review, Ishtar stands as called. It cracks me up.

I will wait for the DVD. I hate spending money on short ass movies in overpriced theaters.

Meh, it's worth 8 bucks to me.

It'll be fun. :)

Man this one is worth the theater experience. Especially in a DLP theater. Man it was spectacular.

Movies like Cloverfield are why they made movie theaters. Don't waste your 8 bucks on some shitty comedy. Rent that crap instead.

Ya saw it?

I know you'd know a good "monster movie". So, (without spoilers), how was it?

It was okay. Worth the moviegoing experience. I won't be buying it on DVD or anything, but I got my money's worth.

Hoping for a sequel.

Plus, I don't give a shit what other people say about a movie, I will check it out for myself.

Sure-Oz 01-19-2008 10:23 AM

I am hoping to check out the late show tonight

If you like thrill rides, it's for you. Seriously, this "Blair Witch meets Godzilla" crap is getting old. About every damn critic is making that stupid comparison. My point is that it is so much more intense than Blair Witch and Godzilla (the American one) put together. It pulls you in when the action starts and takes off from there.

And anyone generalizing and saying the camera was unbearably shaky the entire film is lying. There are plenty of breaks in the action and the movie is paced extremely well. Besides, somebody bitching about that aspect has to be the guy getting pulled of the tilt-o-whirl vomiting his guts out three seconds in.
