No......... sirens went off for the infamous "radar indicated possible, maybe, we are just throwing darts tornado" that was in the SE Corner of Shawnee county, a good 10 miles from the city limits.

Jesus fuck, this is beyond annoying - it's freaking obnoxious.

Thanks for the last 15 minutes of The Office weather****s.

Then you haven't lived in Wichita during the stormy season. They put the KC weather teams to shame. Between wall-to-wall coverage on one of the country radio stations in town which has a ton of storm chasing vehicles and the TV crews going nuts...they really get everyone worked up.

That's my biggest thing with the whole deal.

If there is a an actual tornado coming or even a warning, then by all means break into TV.

However, I think 3 hours of continuous coverage is a bit excessive and does nothing but generate ratings by getting folks scared out of their wits.

I don't mind it. I Love to see where they are at and chase them. They are exciting.

Apparently we had a major storm come over last night around 3:00am but I didn't hear shit.

Dartgod 05-02-2008 08:32 AM

Some damage in glorious Indep. MO where Stately Blowfish Manor is located.

Wind blew the roof off an Arby's, next to my fave pizza joint (Minksy's) which, thank GOD...remained unscathed.

Better not be messin with my pizza fix...or I'll have to hurt somebody.

Your grammar and spelling indicates a level of sobriety we haven't seen from you in years.

What? We get thunderstorms.

Just because there's a little bit of "thunder" in a storm doesn't qualify it as a "thunderstorm" in my book.

I was awake when it hit here, around 2 or 2:30, it was pretty cool. Almost constant lightning.

Wow, I just talked to my folks in Gladstone (Mother's day call). They had a tornado go right over their house from this storm. No damage at their house but neighbors had tree twisted off and completely destroyed. A block from their house five power poles were snapped off and they were without power for 2 days. Two blocks away a house was lifted off its foundation. Dad found a $5 bill in the yard. I'm just thanful that no one was hurt.
