Shit, if you think this is bad, you may want to get body armor and a helmet for the MU/KU college football season.

Another thing Royals and Cardinals fans have in common - they don't have to be 100 fucking years old to remember the last time their team won a World Series.

I had all 7 games on video of the '85 Series and lost them in a fire :doh!:

Your and idiot!

This coming from a Cards fan: Pujols was not supposed/expected to be this good. The Cards staff passed on him how many rounds? TWELVE! To say we STOLE him out of their backyard is perhaps the most ignorant thing I have heard. I could understand if we got him in the first day of the draft, but we got him in the 13th round!! We took a flier and hit the jackpot... hardly stealing anything.

This makes the Royals' oversight even more egregious.

Face it, once your 10 rounds in, they're all flyers. So what makes the Cardinals any more likely than the Royals to take the right flyer, especially when Pujols was from right down the road.

The Royals had senior scouts that watched Pujols and passed on him (one of their engineers was Albert's roomate for cryin' out loud). Jazayerli even said that the Royals knew about Pujols but felt they needed pitchers to replace their struggling (and fast aging) staff.

Had they chosen not to take him in the first 3 rounds or so, I couldn't fault them for it, but when he's still sitting there in the 13th and you've had guys scouting him and you still don't see him as a worthy flyer (meanwhile the Cards, with no true ties to him, did); I'd say there was a difference in organizational aptitude there.

But really, nice try.

Oh, there's no question which organization, top to bottom, is the better. The Royals made an absolute abortion of the draft for many, many years.

Every team passed on Pujols 12 times because he didn't really seem to be an exciting prospect. I saw him in High School; he didn't strike me as the prenatal form of the future God of baseball. He certainly didn't bring much attention to himself playing college ball for Maple Woods Community College (a joke of an institution around these parts). So I don't think that Pujols emergence as a HoF player makes any team look bad, it only makes the Cards look good.

i wear royals hats and shirts in springfield on a regular basis, and have never heard anyone say anything negative about it.

that happens all the time. every sports game i have ever been to there is at least one person wearing gear for a team that's not playing. there is usually at least one raiders or broncos fan at every chiefs game. a lot of cowboys fans too. and there is always at least one cubs fan at every royals game.

I think this mistreatment of Royal fans by Cardinal fans is a urban myth.

And even if its true its not the case on here so why bring it here? Almost every single Cardinal fan on here repects the Royal fan for remaining a fan through the tough times and has said so on numerous occasions.

I've got no problem with that. You are a fan of the team you grew up with.

But the Cubs spent $500 million of their cable money in the last 2 years to buy themselfs a pennent. We shall see if it works this year becuase if it doesn't our farm system is going to start to produce for the next couple of years and their window is closed.

We own the Cubs! Prepare for more of this!

I've gone to NFL games other than KC wearing Chiefs gear, personally I think if you love the game you enjoy watching any of the teams.

My problem with the Royals lies exclusively with Herk Robinson's infamous "we have American League fans" garbage when the Royals had a chance to move to the NL and be relevant again. The Cards would've come to KC a few times a year, the Royals could've competed in the NL where the lack of the DH keeps costs a little lower and everyone would be happy.

Instead Herk Robinson uttered quite possibly the dumbest thing I've ever heard, David Glass (or whichever idiot in a suit was running the team at the time) clearly bought said nonsense and now the Royals are still in the AL Central getting their heads kicked in and are still as irrelevant as ever.

But I'm sure those 'American League' fans don't mind.

Other than the Cardinals and Cubs coming in, the AL is the better league to be in for KC. The better teams are in the AL, yeah the Royals might have a better chance at winning but for MLB it was the smarter decision for the Royals to stay in the AL. KC's been an AL market since the 50's.
