Thanks Dude, but you're right on.

After 5 years of four flights of stairs, we're pretty much over it.

The problem is that there aren't really any ranch style homes in Los Angeles that would be suitable for us. So even when the day comes that we sell and move (and that will probably happen in the next 2 years for various reasons), we'll more than likely end up in at least a 2 story home.

But four? Never again.

I'm guessing that you've become pretty good planners when moving about. No need (or desire) to do four flights because you left your beverage in another room.

You're right, however. The topography of the land doesn't lend itself to a lot of options in single-level living. Would it be correct to assume that a ranch-style house would be even more costly than what are already very expensive multi-level homes?

Knowing Dane like I do I say he adds 4 more floors and an elevator to his home in December.

Ranch-style homes are scarce beyond four bedroom, four bathroom homes. Due to our somewhat unique situation, we need at least a five bedroom, five bathroom home (preferably with a guesthouse) and because of space limitations and lot sizes, that's difficult find in most "desirable" areas for under $4 million.

Multi-level homes with those specs can be found for considerably less, depending how near the ocean the home is located (Santa Monica, Malibu and the Pacific Palisades are among the most expensive in all of Los Angeles and tend to be double the amount per square foot than place like Hollywood).

ROFL

No man, we are done. Done, done, done.

We are so done that we are beginning to look for another home. We really need a yard for the poochies and especially for our newborn. The flagstone patio, while beautiful, is no longer cutting it.

That's interesting and quite educational, actually. Thanks for sharing. Learning stuff on the Planet. Who'd have thunk it?

You egotistical assclown. Nice pics. Hopefully an Indian summer (was that racist?) will put it to good use.

Cool pictures. This is defineately post worthy. And to think, I used to drive by construction sites where there were cranes without stopping to appreciate their coolness.

I guess the only thing cooler would be to post pix of the blimp during the Oscars.

You know we are huge Oscars fans around here.

Actually, I needed a crane to help me handle my morning wood the other day. But damn, if I didn't take pics.
Woulda been some good learning for teh Planetoids.

It depends where you live.

If you live near the coasts, you generally don't need A/C. But I'm 7 miles inland in a little canyon, so we don't get much ocean breeze. We usually only run the A/C a few months out of the year and with a four story home, it's pretty essential during heat waves.

I live 2.5 miles from the ocean and need A/C. So there!

ROFL

JFC

That should be the theme for your next PSP commercial.

A huge fat guy lying in a swimming pool with no flotation device playing PSP.

With Night Ranger in the background.

Classic!
