Alva Deck, Independent Trucks with Kryptonic Wheels. I mowed so many lawns and washed so many cars that Summer to buy that board. It was so worth it, best skateboard I ever owned!

of course, I remember Alva, they had a tourquoise deck out w/ hot-pink Alva lettering, I bought it used, they definitely didn't cut corners on the tail.

Wow, this thread brings back some memories...

I was a huge Caballero fan, and skated mostly his decks. I had a few others sprinkled in, but always came back to Stevie...

I had a 4' half pipe in my backyard for a couple years. Eventually tore it down, and started building an 8' ramp. Was about ready to attach the actual skating surface, and the city showed up and shut me down. A neighbor complained, and I couldn't proceed without a building permit. :( An expensive lesson for a high schooler...

My deck was completely covered with deck grip. Alva was cut out and the lettering was a few colors. I thought that was the coolest damned thing I had ever seen.

I did a google search and found my exact 1979 Alva deck (re-issue of course). Very Cool, many good memories coming back.

Some of my most fondest memories of my early teenage years was hanging out at my place watching dog-town skate videos then headin' out with out boards trying to pick-up preppy chicks.
Doing bottles tokes all day too.:bong:

Heh. Got on my board for the first time in 20 years today, due to this thread. "Hey kids! Do you think I can go uphill?"

"Daddy!? No, you can't"

"Watch, you punks!"

Tack. Tack. Tack.
