Plus, They would hav to abide by the Rooney rule and have to interview at least 1 minority and couldn't announce there decision immediately after the SB until this was done.

Doesn't interviewing Herm for his own job cover that rule?

running a productive offense with all the talent his has in Arizona is NOT a big accomplishment imo.

Dennis Green and whoever his OC's were weren't able to get all that talent above #17 in points scored for their three years.

DaWolf 01-23-2009 12:43 PM

Because I'm sure "league sources" were able to figure out what they hadn't previously figured out. It's just as possible someone took Colinsworth's speculation about Haley and ran with it...

Not really. You do not have to follow the Rooney rule, worst case you don't and you get a fine. Unlikely they will go that route but it is certainly a possibility and has been done before(Detroit Mariucci hiring).

Herm will be making $4 million, regardless. Pioli doesn't owe Herm a damn thing, in fact, Herm's LUCKY, that Scott is being so thorough and actually giving Herm a shot of making a case for himself. Herm isn't the victim.

I still think Pioli is checking out everything that went on the past four years. You have to admit there were some real head scratchers. Draft picks on defense who don't pan out. Players brought in on defense who don't pan out. Players already here who were let go and panned out else where, but couldn't play here.

If it turns out to be all CP and Gun instead of Herm, then maybe Herm deserves more time to let his plan work.

If not, then let him go. But check everything out thouroughly before the decision is made. And I suspect that is what is happening.

But the more I think about it the more I remember the main reason I don't care much for Parcells is the way he berates his players in public. Be it on the sideline or by calling them "she" in press conferences. Haley seems to be Parcells.2, in that regard.

Because you always have a shit ton of posts in a row, makes it a lot easier to read if you would use the multi-qoute like everyone else.

Still, there's no changing the fact that Herm is NOT a good game-day coach.

1- Poor clock management.
2- (Evidence of) handcuffing his OC with conservative calls.
3- Lack of ability for 2nd half adjustments.

I understand what you are saying. I'm not a huge fan of Herms either.
but maybe his hands were tied to some degree on many issues by CP as well. And Herm is doing great at keeping his mouth closed right now... something Gun didn't do on his way out the door.
