they showed their hand when they drafted the #34 for Cassel...we were never going to use our first two picks on QB's.

It was practically a done deal according to some people on here. ROFL

I'd rather have Crabtree.

Do you find it interesting that all the fans of the other teams want us to take the shitty guys who don't benefit us?

Um...

Until today he didn't have a deal, so he wasn't anything more than a 1-year stopgap.

Now that he has a deal, it's obvious that he is the QBotF.

Sanchez is considerably younger and with higher upside, however.

Yep. It's obvious when every thread about Monroe/Smith/Curry suddenly gets overtaken by Bronco and Raiders fans cheering that they would be a great pick.

Maybe, maybe not, but releasing this information just before the draft doesn't make any sense to me. Something is up, I can feel it

And not proven. And apparently would have cost a lot more.

Did I say it was gauranteed?

In that case how can you rip a 6 year un-gauranteed contact for 36 million when Detroit just gave Matthew Unitas over 70?

The difference is Cassel has to be good right now he's 27 not 22.

On the flip side, if Sanchez flames out and Cassel doesn't, the Cassel move looks genius. Round two pick for a top 3 pick.

It all depends on how they pan out. I bet, when all said and done, it's a wash.

Not me, it does no good if Cassell is on the side line hurt because he doesnt have good blocking. We will then have Thigpen mania around here.

htismaqe 04-25-2009 12:29 PM

It's $36M total contract value.

Not $36M guaranteed.

If we had taken Sanchez at #3, he probably would have gotten closer to $36M guaranteed.
