And that's being nice because Jackson will never be Williams and Schaub is probably the best Cassel can end up as.

well we are stuck with both of them so I do hope they reach their max.... but you're right you never ever pass on or trade a franchise QB if you don't have one

Stafford can throw on the run... he played behind a so-so offensive line all of last year. Watch that play today where he gets the PI in the endzone... he was running to his left and flung it about 60 yards like it was nothing. The ball just jumps out of his hand. You just gotta hope being a Lion doesn't ruin him.

And again, if Cassel becomes a franchise QB, which I don't see any reason why he couldn't be, than nobody will say shit.

The Giants passed up on Philip Rivers, who ended up a much better QB than Eli. Think they're upset about that decision? You don't have to have the better QB. You just have to have the right QB for your team and I don't see why Cassel couldn't fit into a solid future plan.

All of the QB's from that year are top of the line, Eli is still developing and getting better.

Stafford has a really strong arm, he just needs refinement with the little things.

He might be good enough to not be ruined by being in Detroit....

I mean ****; how much more piss and frustration can this franchise heap upon the shoulders of it's fan base?

And though it has no bearing on the subject at hand, I'm still going to say it:

Sanchez looks like SHIT IN A ****ING JETS UNIFORM!!!!LMAO GREEN?! ****ING GREEN?!?!?

God damnit; that kid was born to wear the Red and Gold. And now, I got a skinny, Ryan Leaf look-a-like with a 200 yard crystal meth stare hopping around on his gimpy ****ing leg sportin' my colors.LMAO

dude Eli is a gamer.... his drive in the Super Bowl is all you need to see to realize why you need a franchise QB

Mecca 09-28-2009 12:40 AM

I know alot of people don't like Eli, he isn't the stats monster that Rivers is or Roethlisberger but dude is clutch, he makes plays.

Those young WR's the Giants have are going to play with him for a long time, I think Eli's perception is only going to increase.

shit I'm still mad about taking DJ over Aaron Rodgers way back when,,,, this passing up on Sanchez is even worse.... both would look great in red

If we didn't have Cassell then sure, maybe draft Sanchez. We might not have had a chance though because then NY would have leapfrogged us because StL was trying hard as hell to trade out of 4.

Regardless, I'm not convinced after 3 weeks that Sanchez is better of the two. You can't judge ANY QB with this line because they would all stink.

One argument I'd like to make is that I was REALLY pulling hard for Rex Ryan. I do like Haley, but god I would to have loved to have him on the sideline. He's going to be a very very good HC for the Jets.

Mecca 09-28-2009 12:40 AM

Matt Cassel does have a stoned stare now that I think about it.

If we had hired Eric DeCosta we'd probably have Ryan..Sanchez, Bart Scott...

Shit he isn't flashy but he wins and he comes through in tough situations.... look how he totally out classed Romo in Dallas last week

Well, considering you base your arguments on the Rumors page of WPI I'd say you don't know what you're talking about. But please do continue rambling on. Meanwhile there is a worthwhile conversation I'll be following here in this very thread.

He's one of the leaders in come from behind wins too...I think you're really seeing where he's at now with how well guys like Manningham look.

Eli is actually underrated.
