It's moving along pretty well considering I'm only about 25lbs from my goal

I disagree. Whatever makes you happy, though.

If you don't buy it, you can't eat it

The diet starts at the grocery store imo. Always make sure you shop for groceries on a full stomach. Don't buy any cookies, candy, pop etc ... buy whole grain breads and pastas.

Don't buy salt, don't buy beer.

You won't have anything around to be tempted by late at night or when you are feeling weak and/or sad.

This and a little bit of exercise will go a long way imo.

It'd be better if you drunk nothing but water. Choices.

sure, everyone needs the splurge day.

The key is to make sure and set the ground rules for it to make sure it doesn't lead to other stuff.

example: Personal Rule #1 i will only drink beer on Sunday and i will only eat (insert food here) while drinking beer.

in other word don't start drinking beer and then eating everything in sight. Try to pick some food that you can eat alot of but isn't that bad for you like Popcorn.

no beer and pizza, no beer and bratz and hotdogs and ... well you get the idea. :D

About the worst thing you can do is combine Hearty food with sweet garbage food. :shake:

sweets spikes your blood sugar levels and tricks your body into thinking that you are exerting yourself, so it hoards calories. Then after the sugar breaks down in your system you get cravings that feel like hunger so you will want to eat again no matter how much you've already had to eat.

SUGAR IS TEH DEBBIL ... get rid of it from your diet and you will naturally adjust back your body's proper weight. Sugar is what screws everything up.

You do know that your body breaks down every food as either a fat a protein or a sugar right...which basically means you're putting sugar in your body no matter what.

Maybe you shouldn't be tailgating if you can't resist the temptation.

If you want to eat something, just don't eat as much.

That's what I do, I know there are some things I will never be able to never eat so I still have them I just don't eat as much. Portion control is every bit as important as what you're eating.

You lost me on that last part. Eating carbs/sugars when you don't immediately burn them causes them to be stored as fat. That's what insulin does.

That doesn't mean sugar no matter what. There are plenty of foods that don't cause your body to react as though you are eating sugar.

Mecca 11-07-2009 07:49 PM

Most carbs break down as sugar...unless you dig those vegetables that taste like cardboard.
