Here is another stat for you.

the previous 3 seasons before Favre

Vikings -2006 - 282 PPG

2007- 379 PPG

2008 - 379 PPG

2009 w/Favre - 470 PPG

That is a huge impact.

Mangina had the 7th most INT's in the NFL- that is not an MVP stat-sorry.

Hootie 01-08-2010 05:52 PM

Favre would have won the MVP had it not been for his minor rough patch in December...

That's why I have him at #2 and Manning at #1...

I forgot about Rivers...

Manning
Favre
Rivers
Brees
Johnson

Stats don't always paint the whole picture buddy...

Manning had a great year. MVP worthy, no doubt.

Not to mention the come from behind wins and the leadership that he brought. 107 QB rating-2nd best in the NFL. He was not dink and dunking either.

I don't get it. What about Manning's rough patch with his INT's the entire season.

Tell me, who is the only QB in the NFL over 2009 that had OVER 30 TD's and LESS than 10 INT's???

Christ, the Vikings made the playoffs with Tarvaris Jackson at QB last year. Missing Favre means they don't get a bye week.

The Colts missing Manning means they likely don't make the playoffs, and I don't see the Chargers making the playoffs without Rivers, either.

the thing is its NFL MVP not colts, vikings, chargers, etc. NFL. IMO this year its farve.

Rodgers had a good year too...but his play was somewhat shaky until they shored up that offensive line.

That throw VS the 49ers is MVP worthy in its own.

rough patch-?? two games he was just okay-but he finished very strong. 6 T D's in 6 quarters. He actually had a better year this year than his other MVp years.

the Vikings have Adrian Peterson...

The Colts ARE Peyton Manning...he won so many games in the 4th quarter this year...he was super super clutch.

Peyton Manning will win the MVP...so it's just not me with that opinion.

The award is not which player is most important to the LEAGUE, it's who's most important to their TEAM.

Manning or Rivers.

Yup and you can't argue with that. He made Shaincoe into one of the best TE's in the NFC also.

Buck 01-08-2010 05:57 PM

If Rogers didn't get sacked so damn much I might say him. Lets say he got sacked 20 times less, that would have probably amounted to 2-3 more wins.
