Some very good songs on here, but I'm surprised no one's mentioned Ryan Adams. His newer music has drifted more toward alt-country, but he definitely has some folkier stuff.

Springsteen's Nebraska project was excellent,in fact,the song lyrics to Highway Patrolman would end up being the inspiration for the 1991 film The Indian Runner.Here's the song followed by the movie trailer.

Yeah, he's pretty amazing... even if he's a douchebag.

Bruce Cockburn. One of the most overlooked talents from the 70s and 80s. Still puts out great music and is a deft guitar player and lyricist.

Damn...that was howling good! Loved it.

There's a really awesome performance of that at... maybe the Gorge... that I looked for but couldn't find. The crowd just goes nuts. The sun is going down. It's truly epic. Anyway, I'll keep an eye out for it and post it up if I find.
