ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- The Denver Broncos ensured themselves that they wouldn't lose another player to injury Sunday by canceling their practice. Their next workout isn't until Tuesday.

The Broncos have been hit by more than a dozen injuries so far, most notably Elvis Dumervil's torn chest muscle that's expected to sideline him for the season. Top draft pick Demaryius Thomas apparently injured his left foot Saturday night -- the same one he broke in predraft workouts -- and underwent further medical tests Sunday.

That tells me, his foot has not healed.

Fox 31s Josina Anderson reports that Broncos WR Eric Decker suffered a left foot sprain, not left ankle sprain like previously speculated.

Anderson also reports that a pre-MRI detected evidence of a previously existing high ankle sprain. In short, when Decker went down yesterday doctors found both a pre-existing high ankle sprain in addition to a left foot sprain. What does this all mean? If the MRI confirms aggravation of Decker's previous Lisfranc fracture he'll be looking at missing extended time. Any way you cut it things don't look good for Decker.

Fox 31 Denver's Josina Anderson reports that Demaryius Thomas' left foot injury is an aggravation of his pre-Combine fracture.

Sunday's tests, including a CT scan, are expected to determine whether the soreness is from "old or new damage, a combination of both, and to what extent." One source tells Anderson the initial belief is that "it's not that serious." Thomas reportedly struggled early in camp, lacking confidence in his foot. The past two days, however, he had been coming on strong, highlighted by a pair of TD catches just prior to the re-injury.

Neither the foot injury suffered by WR Demaryius Thomas nor the ankle problem incurred by WR Eric Decker are expected to result in long-term absences.

At this point, I think the effectiveness of the "$hanahan Stink Eye" can no longer be questioned.

Denver WRs are so good they don't need two feet /Knowmo

P.S. Surgeons are going to sew Dumervil's pec back on... he might be able to play in 2011 unless there's a strike or something....

Broncos tight end Marquez Branson, the heir apparent to Tony Scheffler, was carted off the practice field Wednesday morning with what appears to be a right ankle injury.

Branson suffered the injury while the Broncos’ were practicing 11-on-11 running plays. As he left the cart near the locker room, Branson had to helped in by medical personnel.

aaOn Wednesday the Broncos added former Raiders running back Justin Fargas to the roster.

The Denver Broncos on Wednesday morning officially signed free-agent running back Justin Fargas.

Fargas spent the first eight seasons of his career with the Oakland Raiders, rushing for 1,009 yards and four touchdowns as recently as 2007. The University of Southern California product has a career 4.1 yards-per-carry average.

The Raiders drafted Fargas in the third round (96th overall) of the 2003 NFL Draft from the University of Southern California.

The former division rival torched the Broncos during a mid-season contest in 2007, tallying 33 carries for 146 yards and a score in a Raiders victory. In 2008, Fargas totaled 204 yards rushing in two games versus Denver.

At 6-foot-1 and 220 pounds, Fargas adds his physical running style to the Broncos backfield.

Tells me Lenwhale is not the answer, or Buckhalters back is more serious.
