Somehow, it's just not the same. If you're seeing it live, on some level, you feel like a part of it.

Yep. Back in the olden days, I used to think it was because recordings on a VHS (or Beta) tape look a little different than live TV. Now that DVR's are here, though, it's clearly about the game itself. It's really hard for me not to just fast forward to the end.
