I would keep my eye on Todd Bowles since he's from the tree. Been a good position coach and has interviewed with teams in the past. He would be a "yes man" to Pioli.

I like him but he's not been consistent like Rex or Schwartz as DCs. I could be wrong.

When the Packers hired McCarthy, he was the OC of the 49ers.

The 49ers were ranked 30th in points and 32nd in yards.

Success as an OC/DC are not always indicative of being a good leader/manager... which is what a head coach is.

You really never know who will be a good head coach. If being a great coordinator made you a great head coach, then Dick Lebeau (the best DC in the NFL right now imo) wouldn't have been so bad at HC and McCarthy wouldn't be such a good one.

Here's another thing to like about Fisher: He drafted two QBs in the first round.

Yeah, but he only wanted to draft one of them.

Fisher wanted a QB, but he didn't want Vince Young.

Fisher's teams are always tough (and dirty) as hell. He's Marty, but with more post-season success.

I'm going to be killed here, I'm sure, but he's not a deplorable option as far as retreads go.

I think Dylan would like one of you fine gentleman to make her a MNF game thread

Another plus!

His interviews will suck he talks so quietly it's hard to understand him. Maybe it's the stache?

He'd probably wear a Tebow jersey, so that's troublesome.

Quesadilla Joe 11-28-2011 07:19 PM

Rick Dennison would be a good choice.

Hopefully Pioli leaves Dennis Allen alone.

Who do you like? Do you want experienced candidates? Someone fresh and young?

Potential candidates:

Jeff Fisher
Kirk Ferentz
Josh McDaniels
Marty Schottenheimer
Mike Zimmer
Andy Reid
Jay Gruden

Please add to the list.

Jeez, what a fantastic pile of shit list that is.

BigMeatballDave 11-28-2011 07:29 PM

Mentioning Marty for HC should be a bannable offense.

Sounds better than what we currently have.

Coughlin Fisher or Reid.
