KC has literally the worst run defense in the league (in ypc), which makes it interesting that the scoring defense is so great.

I wonder how long that will last.

MHM, i wouldnt be worried about points surrendered either, as you say it happens because teams are scrambling like hell to catch up after Manning puts up a 40-50 burger.

But some of you guys seem to be writing us off a bit... still have us marked down for 8-8?

From amenable to asshole at the drop of a Manning.

They are worried, and don't like sharing any of the spotlight since they have PEYTON MANNING!!!!!

I can't wait to watch Shannon Sharpe sulk after we whip their asses.

But when you play a bad team, like Giants and Jacksonville, you dominate them. They did just that.

Because those teams' defenses suck. The Jags are just an abortion, but the offenses in Philly and Dallas are good, and the Giants... meh. Taking care of business is all. The 2 common opponents between Denver and KC have both hung more on Denver's defense than KC. Hell, Philly damn near had 300 yards at half-time today before they completely tanked the 2nd half after their defense allowed 11 concurrent assrapes.

The interesting thing to me that of the 4 teams we've played, 3 of them have scored at least 30 points in a game this season, Jacksonville being the obvious exception.

I think Philly game screws that up. Philly is just one of those teams that run on anybody, before yesterday Denver D was only giving up 40 yards a game and philly put 166 yards on them.

William bartee is confused by this notion.

And, that worked out well...

PHI was moving the ball fine in the first half which was concerning, but they died in the red zone.

Come out of halftime and it's a totally different ballgame in the 3rd... which has been the case all season.

Regarding KC, like most, the 4-0 start is a surprise, so yeah KC should be able to do better than 8-8... with 12 games left, winning half puts them at 10.

I see 7 very tough games out of the 12 for KC... not saying they'll lose all of them by any means, but it's a tough road.

Reading a lot of noise about the points given up by Denver in comparison (say PHI) to what KC allowed. I think it's all relative and given the situation Denver has been in late in games (huge leads), giving up 7-10 points is rather meaningless.

Denver was up 42-17 vs BAL in the 4th and gave up 10 late. (Won 49-27)
Denver was up 38-16 vs NYG in the 4th and gave up 7 late. (Won 41-23)
Denver was up 37-14 vs OAK in the 4th and gave up 7 very late. (Won 37-21)
Denver was up 52-13 vs PHI in the 4th and gave up 7 very late. (Won 52-20)

So, 31 of those 91 points against were in absolute garbage time when the games were decided. Yes, the points still count, but as everyone knows... points are scored when teams are in "put anything on the board mode" and the other team is resting on a comfortable lead.

Denver's defense has bent a bit at times, but they've adjusted really well. KC's defense is better overall at this point, and that's fine. Lots of young guys getting good experience with Denver's defense right now. I know that many said PHI would be "the test", but I'm guessing there is back tracking there...

I don't think Dallas wins this week, but they have power and are at home... but, they won't be able to go 'toe to toe' with Denver. See what Rivers did and expect more.

Now that KC is 4-0 and you guys are all feeling good again... It's going to be fun around here.

I know when I've been bested on stats,so I'll say thanks for posting those games, leads, etc. it does make a difference.

Doesn't change the fact that I would love to see our defense knock that ****ing Manning into retirement. :)

Funny then, that Denver is #3 in ypc allowed after playing Philly.

KC did allow the Eagles more ypc than they averaged in all their other games, but it's not just Philly. The Jags and the Giants both had more success running against the Chiefs than they have had against other teams as well.

I hear ya... better do it really stinking fast though, they don't waste a lot of time once the ball is snapped.

Stats are stats and damn near any team can find one to build a good value story...

Bottom line is this, the Broncos hasn't broken down in any major ways... they've given up some big plays, but they adjust incredibly well. They're far from perfect or consistently dominant, but they are very good.
