Not quite. Those pictures you posted were of people getting their news from the only source available at the time. They weren't spending hours a day on Facebook, twitter, Instagram, I-tunes, etc... Posting pictures of their dog, dinner, and such. When people got together back then they actually sat around and conversed. Today you can't go out to dinner with a group of people without some narcissistic douchebag pulling out their phone to update their Facebook status, text someone what they are doing, or spout their stupid opinion on Twitter.
Kids today are quickly losing the ability to communicate effectively. Technology has given us many great things, but the price for these advances is the things we will surely lose like effective verbal communication, adequate attention spans, and the feeling that some things in life should be kept to yourself.
