On a side note to the KISS thing, when Van Halen got in they couldn't agree on the performance and ended up just scrapping the whole thing. The only ones who even ended up showing were Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony--the two guys no longer in the band.

Yes, it's a business to them and they're only in it for the money.

Having said all that, they're the linchpins of the band. Every band has its key members. Iron Maiden has Steve Harris and Dave Murray. Spinal Tap had Nigel Tufnel and David St. Hubbins. Paul and Gene? They're McCartney and Lennon; Ace and Peter are Ringo.

People can say what they want about the ballads and Steven looking like an old woman (and Joe Perry is getting there), but Aerosmith is still ****ing great live.

At the very least, you've got to be impressed with the way they get around in those giant shoes. Gene just kind of lumbers around, but Paul actually does a lot of running and stuff in those things.

Saw them a couple of years ago. The most mailed in performance I've ever seen by any band. Extremely disappointed.
