So.

Turnpike Troubadours and Jason Boland will be playing at Crossroads in KC on August first.

I'm unfamiliar with that venue but predict I will be unable to say so on August 2nd.

You'll love crossroads. It's my favorite venue in KC. It's behind Grinders on 18th downtown. Best part is that you can order wings/beer/pizza during the show.

The first song didn't do it for me, but this one is money.

If he'd of thrown a bigger dagger at Nashville and pop country in Hank III's style it would have had it all.:thumb:

I love Stirgil and Sunday Valley. Listened to his stuff for an hour today and introduced 2 other coworkers to his stuff today. He's the King turd on big shit mountain but you can have the crown.....

Life Ain't Fair is my favorite song of his so far.

Bueler.....I told you Turnpike ruled. I burned 2 CDs of their stuff and sent them to people today.

Also give the Dirty River Boys a try. John D Hale. I also liisten to Hellbound Glory quite a bit lately. Go to Youtube and watch their viral stuff. Bastard Child, Til the lights go out, lost cause, Malt Liquor and Better Hope you die young are my favorites. I've had a couple of beers with all of these bands.

I'm not sure I'd call it country, but this works for me.

Kinda of generic sounding where singer is trying to sing more low and drawn out than sounds natural through that song. Nothing bad, nothing great.

Too loud, guitar is just noise and the lead singer could fit in any holiday inn lounge. Good future at county fair beer tents

Mr. Flopnuts 08-29-2014 03:41 PM

I'm in on that show.

Iowanian 08-29-2014 05:00 PM

very likely going.

Iowanian 08-29-2014 05:06 PM

Medicine Springs is one of my favorites.

also, give "Shovels and Rope" a listen. Start with Birmingham and Gasoline. a little different but I like them.

I take it you are more of an achey brakey heart / cock-country kinda guy with brand new wranglers and a lance armstrong bracelet while you crank your Florida Georgia Line tape?

Iowanian 08-29-2014 05:16 PM

FGL eats the balled up toiled paper on the hair at the bad end of my taint.

Red dirt is the only country music available today. If it's out of nashville it very very likely sucks hobo ding dongs.

I think he was referring to the band I posted a video of, I work with one of them and he's convinced they're going to hit it big. I just nod and smile lol.

Some of David Nails songs are pretty much the only exception.
