ROFL

The dude was not slow. He was the same guy he always was.

Alex Smith is just a little fraidy cat afraid to throw guys open.

Look how fat Bowe was!

I love how you are complaining about how conservative Alex Smith was during the first NINE GAMES of last year.

He was. We won games based on our overrated defense feasting on shitty QBs.

Thanks for NOTHING Alex.

And then we started playing not shitty quarterbacks and we needed more points and less conservative play.

Bowe also started showing up about the same time Reid had his talk with Alex about him HAVING to throw the ball down the field.

Reid wasn't the one that didn't want to or know how to use Bowe...

the longest pass(in the air) to Bowe was like 12 yards, the big yards came after the catch

And we won all of 2 games, one on the strength of the defense destroying RG3.

Thanks, Alex.

But that's a completely different argument. You weren't saying that Smith is incapable of scoring points by throwing aggressively. You were complaining that he wasn't aggressive enough.

Basically, I think you're a bit myopic when it comes to Smith. The guy isn't all-world elite, and that pains me. But he quite obviously is a good quarterback that chooses to err on the conservative, mistake free football, for better or worse.

You obviously disagree with that approach fundamentally, which is totally valid. But when you start getting into trolltastic posting it makes it more difficult to sift through the nonsense and find out exactly what the **** you're complaining about.

Alex had 2 games after week 9 where he threw for more than 7 ypa, compared to 3 through week 9. He was streaky as shit. He took more shots down field but there was still a bunch of conservatism going on.

That's what you get with him. Frankly, I disagree with the approach, because I don't think interceptions - especially downfield interceptions - are NEARLY as detrimental to winning as coaches like to make them out to be.

They're like chasing a straight. Sure, it will bite you in the ass sometimes. You have to accept that as an occupational hazard of playing loose. But when it pass off it tends to pay off huge. And that is often times more than enough to keep you in the game.

This thread is about Alex undermining Bowe. That's all. That's the truth.

Until we play an actual game, wouldn't it be hard to tell how effective Bowe will be in games this year?

We talkin bout practice? - AI

Yep.

He will never be more than what he is: a disease that kills wide receivers.
