Parents have had DirectTV for 20 years now and myself I've had it for about 4 years now. Its been great. Way better than the cable I had.

DirecTV blacked out the local NBC affiliate here in Colorado Springs. I missed the Winter Classic and PIT/BAL last night. Lord help me if this shit continues on 8 February.

Direct TV is not blocking your local CBS station.

Your local CBS station pulled their programming because their contract expired, and rather than allowing DTV to continue to provide you with your local network, and ensure that you get that all important local advertising, which is the reason you are not allowed to choose non local affiliates, they pulled out.

That's simply untrue. I work for a broadcast company that goes through this all the time with Directv. They pulled this same line with our markets, and the truth is, we tried to extend the agreement so we could continue to negotiate, and they pulled the plug.

Local TV are the most-watched stations, yet the cable companies and satellite providers want to pay local TV the least for retransmission rights.

Blame DTV for the outage - they're CONSTANTLY in retrans arguments with broadcasters and other stations alike. AMC was recently running ads saying they were in danger of being pulled.

So who's to blame: the company that argues with everyone, or the company that seals deals with cable carriers and satellite carriers across the country, but always has trouble with DTV?
