Tribal does. He understands the psychology of all social situations. His dad also played QB for the YMCA flag football league so he could tell you the ins and outs of playing the position in the NFL.

He should have flashed these creds. I digress.

What would have been the reason to pay Houston prior to the deadline? There was zero benefit for the Chiefs. They managed to sign players they wanted, re-sign their own FAs.

Cap space. To sign free agents when there were still good players available. And how do you know they managed to sign all the players they wanted? How do you know they kept all the free agents they wanted? Every team would want to have a manning, suh etc, but they are forced to work with what they have. With another 8m in cap space who knows what would have happened.

Guy called the shot. Contract was done for around what he said. Guy gets flamed for no reason.

Rinse and repeat.

It's really a shame.

Dorsey: How about 6 years 92 million?

Houston/agent: Too low, you can do better.

Dorsey: Alright, we got creative, and we think we can do 6 yrs 97.5 with 50 mil guaranteed.

Houston/agent: Getting closer, you're in the ballpark. I'll come to town and we can figure it out from there.

Clark: What's he say?

Dorsey: He'll be here Tuesday, a couple details to workout, but I think we've got it.

Weatherman's source gets details, thinks it's a done deal, but wasn't completely in the loop, and here we are.

Point is, there's a hundred ways he could have had info that both he and his source thought was correct, but they were just a little misinformed.

You got a family, or a job? Shit happens all the time when trying to make plans and get everyone on the same page.

Fact is, he was so freaking close, it's not funny.

Are you people serious? Houston was expected to sign for around $100mil by everyone. Weatherman being close is not a sign of anything other than the fact that he read some articles and guesses on what Houston would get. He was off on both the guarantee and total contract worth. That's not "close"

Weatherman has trolled an entire message board before. He has no track record of being right. And he really wasn't THAT close.

He announced this deal would take place before any media sources like PFT were saying that the Chiefs were resuming talks.

Up until that point we had no freakin clue if Dorsey was still making phone calls or if he just said, "**** it" and decided to take a vacation like Carl did.

I don't know anything about his track record.

But anyone saying it was an easy guess is completely talking out of their ass. Most on that thread predicted Houston would accept the tag and then plenty felt he'd be so pissed he'd be out of KC in 2 years.

Others in the thread predicted JJ Watt money was on the high end and that the chiefs would offer OLB money.

He went on the thread, predicted the contract would be done by Wednesday, and predicted close to JJ Watt money. Pretty bold prediction. And I can't believe people think being off by $3.5M is not considered a "close" guess

Predicting the contract would be done by Wednesday was't really a stretch. It was cut off day. It was either going to be done or he was tagged.

The discussion in this thread is matched in pointless stupidity only by the original concept of this thread.

He's the same guy who said we'd sign Manning. And then came here bragging about trolling arrowhead pride on that issue. He has nothing to lose if he's wrong.

It doesn't exactly take Nostradamus to predict a franchise player signing at the deadline. That's when they sign the vast majority of the time.
