I think that's why the Chiefs have been supported more so the last 20 years or so.
Now the Royals have been kicking tail and are going to the playoffs again.
Chiefs have really taken a back seat on the bus in this town everyone just wants to live, taste and breathe Royal blue.

Starting from 1969, with the Royals being an expansion team, the Royals have four pennants and two world championships, which is better than the one AFL, one AFC, and two world championships that the up-and-running Chiefs have accomplished in that time.

Yeah but....it's baseball.

There were definitely a lot more people at the Royals event but that Chiefs pic was clearly taken very early in the day. The hill filled up, although it didn't really get full until the parade watchers started coming over. At the Royals, the parade route crowd couldn't get on the hill because it was already packed.

No question the cold was the big difference. A lot less kids at this one.

Nah... really cold shitty weather I think KC shows up hard for both of these teams.

Yes

Prison Bitch 02-05-2020 08:19 PM

I like baseball more than football but there’s no question football is bigger here, like it is about everywhere.

petegz28 02-05-2020 08:21 PM

They said early that they already had more people than the Royals parade so....

Either way this city loves their baseball and football teams!

Football is king literally everywhere and has been for over 30 years.

Funkstown 02-06-2020 12:50 AM

Football reigns supreme in KC and has been that way for over 50 years. Currently the Royals are in the shitter. They have 3 years until they get back to the playoffs. Right now the Chiefs are about to win multiple titles.

Gravedigger 02-06-2020 01:03 AM

It's a sports town. Don't pick when you don't have to.

Titty Meat 02-06-2020 01:25 AM

Football is pretty much popular everywhere but this town is def a bandwagon baseball town.

It didn't help the dumbass weather people were saying 3 inches of snow during the parade.

SuperBowl4 02-06-2020 03:29 AM

The Kansas City Kings

That first photo was something like 4 hours before the parade i think i read. Here is a better picture.

I'd give football the edge, but doesn't have to be an "either or". This town is a good sports town and can support both.

The Chiefs are in a much better position going forward for the next 10-12 years with Mahomes and the way the MLB cap works.
