My hatred of fantasy football is primarily driven by the way that many hardcore fantasy types watch games. I have (Bronco fan) family members who, during Chiefs-Broncos games - will constantly talk about how well an individual Chiefs player is doing (positively) and checking their phones for fantasy updates and barely pay attention to the actual game itself. It's obnoxious.

While I agree it's possible to disassociate fantasy from reality football, many don't and make others around them hate them.

That's dumb and unnecessary. Exactly what I was talking about with regards to separating fan loyalty and fantasy football. You're just hindering your own chances...

I don't do any fantasy updates during Chiefs games. Even when the Chiefs aren't on ... I only do fantasy updates after the noon games and then after the 3 PM games. I hate when my friends update me on fantasy scores (H2H) during games ... huge pet peeve.

I'm sure part of it is the constant tweeting to him:

"What do you think of my draft dude?"

"Hey bro, how many yards you think you'll put up?"

"JMAC, how many TDs you got this year my man!"

Meh. There's idiots present in every form of entertainment, and how they consume their entertainment is their business. Why are you watching them check their phones and stuff instead of actually watching the game yourself?

Have to agree with Fish and Hootie. It's not hard to separate the two.

I'd draft Peyton ****ing Manning if I thought it would help me win a league. I'd also be rooting for a career-ending injury anytime he plays the Chiefs.

I'm a football fan, though. I have no problem separating fantasy from the actual sport. That's a big part of the reason I'd say a guy like Russell Wilson is on the same level as Andrew Luck. Gaudy stats are for n00bs.

Because they're sitting beside me and talking about it during the game. Brother in law and his two sons.

I had a friend last year that texted me sometime around week 4, 5, 6 (I'm guessing it was around the time we slaughtered them) saying Gronk sucked because he wasn't putting up enough fantasy points.

What a ****ing dumbass. I considered ending our friendship on the spot.

Would you fight him? I think I would - I have 1/2" on him. He doesn't look real tough, ya know?

Maclin is just setting up the ff players that are going to be posed at him for a down year.

READ - "I'm going to have 800 yards and 5 TD's in this offense, but that doesn't mean I suck." /JMac, probably

I also have given up on fantasy football. Used to be I would have literally 8-10 teams going on every game day, and I would be glued to the computer/phone checking updates. Way too much work, way too stressful. Now I just sit back and enjoy the games without freaking out over who scored what and when. It's kind of nice.

That pressure must have been intense!

Maclin and Mizzou #shame

SAUTO 08-30-2015 10:42 AM

I play in two fantasy football leagues

One is a bar league 10 bucks

One is a bigger money league 150 entry plus fees for transactions.

I set their lineups and let them play I treat both leagues the same and never worry about either.

Chiefs games are more important.

Some of you ****ers confuse fantasy with real ****ing life.

Demonpenz 08-30-2015 10:46 AM

You can't leave a team and call it a business then complain when people are hustling your ass for fantasy football money.
